Grouping Level RangeFollow

Ok, I'm planning on doing a group tonight. What are the general level ranges that people can group together? I know in FFXI people had to be within 3 levels of each other. I think in EQLive it's 5 levels (?). So what about EQ2?

Could I group with a level 7 and a level 12, and everyone gets comparable xp? I know the tighter your group is (in levels) the better xp you'll get, but I'm talking about completely destroying xp here.

I was in a party earlier today ranging from 6-9 and XP was ... kinda slow, but we were taking oranges. Later we moved on to reds and it picked up a little but ... I'm still confused myself on the XP rules here.

This is not Something Awful. Please be intelligent. Remember, the atmosphere of the boards that we create over the next few weeks will dictate how they are for a good long time.

...

Perhaps if you'd read the rest of the thread you'd see that we do indeed know each other, IRL even. It's an inside joke where I told him last night that he'd better not pass me.

Regardless of how intelligent it may or may not sound, I don't really care. I know him, it was directed toward him, and that's all that matters.

Yes you are right. So let's not create a board that's too uptight. We can have some fun on here as well..

I'm curious about the level gap for grouping as well.. I heard it was pretty large but that was a while ago...

any definitive ideas on this yet guys?

In EverQuest1 the rule for grouping and getting XP was ((Lowest LV)x 1.5) -- You can group with someone who is no more than one and a half times your LV. I know a lot of EQ2 is going to be different, but a lot will likely be the same.

Yes, as Lorkil said, the rule in everquest was an individual could group with someone up to 50% higher in level then him, rounding upward ( 37x1.5 = 56 ). I would think it is pretty much the same in EQ2, best way to figure it is making test i guess.

Also there was a different rule for instanced zone where a maximum of 7 level difference could be attained only in LDON.

Then with omens of war, new instanced zone were implemented without that 7 level rule, so i guess there will be multiple rules in EQ 2 also, and it will probably evolve with the game.

Hope it helps direct your testing.
