Who the heck did SOE **** off?Follow

What the hell are they thinking here?
Lets make sure and get the endless supply of games to the retailers so that they can be on the shelves the day before launch, and not even try to ship to well over half the population that went out of their way to try and support the developer by "PRE-ORDERING" the fricking game directly from the SOE store. Not to mention all those that "PRE-ORDERED" from other retail stores that have gotten a sticking with glass and no vaseline. I will never pre-order another game so long as I live. There has been proven to be no real bonus to doing so.

hmmm well considering in seattle everyone is sold out unless you pre-ordered, I guess I am lucky. On defence of retailers it gives them a better idea on how many to get in so there is enough for everyone. I always pre-order what games I can so that way there may be a couple for those who forgot to or just didn't reserve a copy.

I think it may be all about karma man, I believe in doing good for the whole not the one.

I live in a dinky, little, rural town with no place to buy software (other than Walmart - and well, its Walmart), so the pre-order option is my best bet. Really, its not the end of the world if I don't get to play the day the servers came up....saved me from at least 800 of the same /ooc's all day :P The UPS tracking # provided by Sony shows that my game is in town and set for delivery tomorrow, so I'm happy.

pre-ordered from EB and went first thing to pick it up. they got in TWO copies, thats it. Bought them both (for me and my fiancee) and feel sorry for the other poor bastards that preordered from there.

I pre-ordered from EB. I had my copy by 8:59 Tuesday morning. That is not bad at all for overnight delivery.

I know someone that works at EB Games and he said EB Games were expecting 1 million copies sold.

Simply put, I'm pissed off, too. So you're not alone.

Hmmm, I pre-ordered from SOE Store and had my copy yesterday morning, courtesy of UPS :)
Maybe it helped that I selected express shipping..:p

Also, the copies surely don't get shipped to the stores directly. They go through other "hands", such as distributors, etc. Can't necessarily blame SOE for everything there.
It's not like your life is coming to an end if you have to wait a few days :)

We pre-ordered from EBgames in our hometown, and the pre-orders were availiable to pick up since Monday 2pm. My husband picked our copy up at 6:15pm that night and the cashier said we we're the ONLY ones to pick up a copy. They has tons BTW...so there was no problem here in NH. ;)

You guys should be happy. Man I had some serious lag and slow down from all the players on mistmoore, and to top it off some zones werent available. Point is at least you will have a better start. god waiting for the servers to come up now..

The babbages/gamestop in my town is "pre-order" only until Friday afternoon depending if everyone picked up their copy.

EBgames finally sent me a shipping notice a few hours ago, and the UPS man will be here in less than 5 hours.

Its not the having to wait, its the way SOE kinda of just stepped on some of us.. I got my notice on the 8th that my game was instock (pre-ordered MONTHS ago directly from sony).. then on the 9th I got that BS email saying the tins could get there ..well between the 8th and the 9th, 32 tinned copies of the game showed up at the store here.. I didnt buy one of course because I expeted my copy to be waiting at home... so if MY copy was in stock..OBVIOUSLY it got sent to a store instead of me if theyre telling me NOW that they cant send it to me..
The game is great.. the wiat is not a huge deal.. but the constant poor treatment from sony was enough to make me just cancel my order.. WoW is pretty nice after all

No clue where you live but I purchased my last expansion hard copies at Wal-mart. Wally world does not always have the latest and greatest but the stores in Houston have EQII.

I just pre-ordered from EB locally. As usual I had no problems getting my game yesterday (other than having to wait in the incredibly long line caused by Halo 2), and I could have gotten it Monday if I hadn't ordered the DVD version.

Well-I got my copy at 7pm monday night (the 8th) from a local Frys Electronics-so I had the pleasure of playing all night Monday-Course My dad and brother are still waiting for their pre-ordered to be received. The game is great tho and I am amazed at how smooth the first few days have been.

Whell i live in Albany NY and i went to the mall to go to EB around 2pm and the long lind of fiends hunting for Halo 2 had the line backed up.......so even though they had it i left......so then i walk in to best buy and they had 20 copys of collectors sitting right there on the shelf no lines :) and also had like 30 copys of the regular version. So i walked in and out for my buying experiance so i recommend just hunting around a bit and not to pre order to all of u that had to wait for your collectors edition

LOL that was exactly my experience. Walked in EB Games and there was a line of 12 people but all were for Halo2. They had about 30 copies or more of EQ2 just waiting for me to choose from :)

Some got pre-orders on time yesterday if they paid for a better shipping arrangement. Either that or pre-order for pick up in stores. Next day air is really the issue, you can't use standard shipping.

It's not that people get screwed with pre-order, it's that most of us don't understand completely how it works. I pre-ordered, but screwed up shipping and wasn't allowed to upgrade shipping the next day (Best Buy, not Sony) so it won't be here till the 15th. I ended up having to buy it twice, the pre-order I already paid for, and a lucky purchase at Gamestop in town.

Frankly it's academic now, but it's something to remember for the next game. We didn't get screwed, we just learned better what to expect.

wow for real??? I live in Canada and the game shipped November 8th. I did not ahve a copy pre-ordered nor did i need to ahve one. The store has a thousand copies and currently still do. I have a freind who went to purchase one today and he also had no problems.

Still nothing from SOE store. No e-mail to say hey we screwed up, we will be shipping on such and such day. Nothing!. They got my money for two copies of the game and next day shipping for both, but I don't even get the courtesy e-mail. That said, one of my local stores has numberous copies of ALL the versions. I am heading in that direction right after work. SOE will get my courtesy e-mail when I have my copies in hand, CANCEL me fricking order and give me back my money NOW!

Hay,
I walked into EB here in Little Rock at 11:00 am (Damn having a job) and only 3 people ahead of me, all wanting Halo2. They had a stack of DVD EQ2 2 feet high and the CD version 3 feet high. But they only have 10 or so copies of the Collector's Edition.
Not that it did me any good, by the time I got home, the registration server was down from "congestion" and I never did get registered.
Hope things are better tonight.

Ok... now Im unhappy. After reading post and looking at my 2 emails for the 100th time in disbelief. 1 email said they had my copy ready to go, and that was on nov. 5th. The next one says sorry not shipping till end of the week. I dont get it:(. Why would they do this? Also all they offer is extra week free play. I pay $78.00 pluss shipping, to get this kind of treatment. I think they should have had web sight set up for us to down load directly, set up till we got our copy. THAT WOULD BE THE RIGHT THING TO DO. WHY PRE ORDER.....I DONT EVEN HAVE A UPS SHIP DATE YET
