path of the rogueFollow

My wife is doing the quest to choose the rogue class but is level 8 and up against a room with 3 yellow cons (at the same time). Is there any strategy involved here? She feels this is impossible. What can we do to finish this quest?
I chose the Sorcerer class and was able to finish my final fight at level 8, there were like 4 things I had to kill but they didnt engage you untill you attacked them. Any tips would be very helpful.
