Hi,

Just finished installing the game. But, I'm having a graphics problem. The GUI and Character names are showing up, but the rest of the screen is black. It's the same on the create toon screen and the game. All the menu's are fine, but no game graphics. ^^;

Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and figured out how to fix it.

I'm using an Athlon 2.4, 768mb ram, and a Radeon 9800. Directx 9.0c seemed to install fine, and the DXDiag tool finds no errors.

The game was optimized for the Nvidia GeForce chipsets...I am wondering if you are seeing the darker side of that pact.

optimized yes, but not singled out. They wouldn't make it crappy on ATI, half the population has ATI. It just has code to make the Nvidia stuff a lil better.

Maybe you have your settings too high. Check and see if there is a new driver. If so maybe try it out. Sometimes though the new drivers don't do anything but make it worse. Check SOE site and see if thereis an approved version for ATI.

Actually, the marketing department "optimized" for nVidia, not the code-monkeys. EQ2 runs great on ATI. It certainly runs better on old ATI hardware than it runs on old nVidia hardware <cough>GF4 MX</cough>
