ok yeah i know we are getting the game on the 8th but is it going live now on the 8th or is it still going live on the 9th like the counter shows on the official site

It will be live on the 8th seeing as how the Sony Store has already started shipping.

One of the devs posted on the official boards that the servers will be up on the 8th but they anticipate that the vast majority of stores will have it in stock on the 9th and that is why the counter is counting down to the 9th.
