This is a very good post:

I'm not in the beta, but my sister who is says the advice is pretty good.

From what I've seen so far, that is pretty handy information. I only wish that I had played EQLive or EQOA in the past. I hope that my FFXI thinking doesn't "gimp" me. >_<

I don't think it will. I played EQ1 for 3+ years, but in the little I seen of the Beta, EQ2 seems like a pretty different game. The lore is shared, but there is enough that's different to make it seem like a new game. Which is a good thing in my book.

I've been looking around at various guilds, and many of them INSIST that you have previous EQ experience. Perhaps it a bit silly of me to want to join one so soon, but the guild community really appeals to me. When I first started playing FFXI, the Linkshell I joined was one of my greatest sources of information and support. Without that experience when I first started, I don't know if I would have been as good a player as I became. (Who knows, perhaps I still would.^^)

There is one that I'm hoping to get into. But I may be declined due to my complete lack of EQ knowledge. :/

Try the guild finder on the bottom of this page:

I did a search for guilds operating in West Coast time zone (surprising hard to find in my experience) and six were listed. So maybe there are other you haven't seen yet that meet your criteria.

Great information.
This will help everyone, seasoned MMORPG vets and newbies alike.
I just hope more can/will read this.
