Has anyone in beta tried using a controller?.... Sometimes i feal lazy and want to sit back and play. Some games are ok with a controller and some arent. I guess what I should be asking is there a way to use a controller on the combat end?

Er... possibly. Most of combat is done with the hotkey bar, so if you had something with movement controls (you autoturn to face mobs) and at least 6 but up to 11 would be good (one to control attack) you'd be fine, assuming you're not the MA or pulling. You'd just use one hotkey for assisting the MA, which you'd have to program for every group but that's not that big of a deal.

So you have to use the mouse to target correct?
I tried playing FF11 for awhile and like its controlle setup in the sence there was an auto target you could asign to a dirrectional key, oh well. thanks for that info

No. You can type (or set up a macro that will type) /assist PlayerName, at which point you'll target whatever they have targeted. All you have to do is manually set the PlayerName part for each group you're in, and you're set. EQ2 has you autoface the monster in combat too, by the way.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by controller. However, in EQI you could load in differnet User Interfaces (UI) that would give a dramitically different appearance. This also had some maco type stuff built into those UI, for lack of a better way expressing it, you could see the map all the time or the HotKeys were more customizable.

I'm not sure EQII will allow you to load different UI's.
