Race Vs Class

I am trying to plan what class to be, but remember that some races can only be certain classes. IE Trolls can not be Bards.
Is this true with EQ 2? Or can any race be any class?

I am thinking on being a Bard subclass Dirge. Anyone in beta get this far yet to know if this is a good choice?

All races can be all classes. Some races cannot be certain alignments, though, which limits their subclass choices (e.g. no good Trolls unless you do the FP->Qeynos betrayal quest). Given how irrelivant the initial stats are, it's quite feasible to have a Troll Mage or a Ratonga Brawler.

Betrayal quests are usually available at about the 15th level..so this gives you time, before you choose your final class at lvl 20...So, yes, if you betrayed, before lvl 20, I would think that you can become whatever you like...
