I was just browsing YouTube and saw this video posted by a guy whom I had seen in the past. Apparently he received a copyright strike for a video he posted a month ago talking about the letter from the producer and the upcoming beta. He doesn't think he really violated and copyright laws nor the NDA but has taken down all of his FFXIV videos fromt he past year+ in fear of getting more strikes. To me this sounds like it was probably watched by some White Knight that felt like sifting through FFXIV videos just itching to bring the ban hammer down on someone. Even if it was someone from SE that stumbled across the video, it still seems like they are getting far too liberal with this NDA banning stuff. I guess the first rule of beta has been changed to "don't say the word beta". Oh wait... cra....*banhammer slap+3*

Yeah.. I saw a couple of them a while back but never got around to watching more/all of them... I hope he can settle things and feel confident in putting his videos back up. It's terrible that he has to feel like this has pushed him away from even playing FFXIV anymore.

Actually reminds me about; I read a comment on one of his recent vids; someone who accused him of breaking the NDA by talking about things in the BETA, but all he did was talking about his hopes and ideas for 2.0 and what he hoped they would change during the BETA.
But like you said yourself; probaly some selfrightous idiot that reported it because he mentioned the Word: BETA.

I've seen that mindset on a whole bunch of internet crusaders on other FF14 vids, where they mention stuff about what they would like to see changed during the beta. Funny thing is; the info given in the vids is all based on public statements/information/pics etc.

And regarding the copyright strike: that is just silly, correct me if I'm wrong, but he ALWAYS write below his FF14 vids that SE owns the right to the game and yadayadayada. He makes money off Lets play vids, like a 1000 of other youtubers so why him? My personal theory is that somewhere there was a butthurt person who felt like their life had little meaning and had to make someone else misreable :P

The best way to avoid getting banned by talking about the (NDA) is to just censor the word (NDA) with the phrase "NDA" - at this point everyone will know what you're talking about, anyway.

Or, just mention you're Legacy, and everyone will know you're in the (NDA) without actually saying it!

They probably did it to a lot more YTers, but the smaller ones like him probably don't have the popularity to make a big public stink about it. Most people posting videos about FFXIV are like this anyway. The bigger names had moved on to other games, while posters like him continued to supply a small following with videos. I'm sure he can dispute it but it seems like he doesn't want to jeopardize his income over this.
