Hi there. Got this game a couple hours ago and after downloading the huuggue updates im finally in... except.. ive no idea what im doing. Whenever i attack somthing it kills me and nobody will help :(

Was wondering if someone give me a few pointers? Whats a good character class to play? Why cant i kill anything? (even the skeletons next to my start point are too tough... how can i lvl up if i cant get any exp?)

Will someone please help me???

**EDIT**

First look for your trainer. Ie if you chose Mystic, then talk to the person with Mystic Trainer under their name. He/She should help you find Dalikor who will get you started on some newbie quests which will help you with xp and eq. If you looke for people with "yellow swirlies" around their feet, then they have quests you can do for more xp and sometimes eq. At some point, Dalikor will not have the swirlie, and that will mean you need to level on your own before you qualify. This will get you to 5th lvl and then you will be sent off to choose your class and then you will on your way. This site is a great place to look up hints on quests. (I tend to collect quests while I am running around doing other ones, and then when the journal says head east out of town, I am sitting there wondering which town? <G>) If you are having trouble with people helping, try out one of the RP servers if you are willing to not have a stupid name, and refrain from discussing the Final Four and all that in main channels. (Not saying you can't talk about it in private, just not appropriate where all can hear it.) Good luck, and happy hunting hibs :)

everything in daoc is color coordinated.

grey = way below your level (no exp)
green = few levels below you (low exp)
blue = fewer levels than green below your lvl (decent exp)
yellow = your lvl (prime exp)
orange = opposite of blue (better exp than yellow)
red = uhhhh.... better off fighting an orange but great exp :P
purple = how do you say "getting your A$$ handed to you" in norseman

so i'd say kill things that are blue to start off until you get armor an whatnot then go for yellows... or oj's if your feeling uber.
