It's about time I go hunt this puppy for awhile.
I was just curious to those who have conquered this NM, what job/lv were you?, Did you get/ how much/many time/kills did it take to get the drop?
Please include any suggestions... thank you for any positive feedback on this NM.

EDIT: Also about what level do you think I should be? I was proposing taking my THF from 25 to 45 or 50 for THII.

my point was, argus's difficulty to claim is the reason the program is named after him. i'm not encouraging it.
Though, I did download that cheatpack, the most I ever did was look at PC and NPC, and Strider boots for about 20 seconds before logging out.
These programs are BAD.
If you really despretly want an Argus Charm or w/e it is now, get alot of friends and have them spam voke/charm/chiblast

to actually answer his question:
stand in the smaller room, it seems that he pops there for often, or in the hallway between the 2 rooms. Also, definitly sub thf, for TH, if you arnt THF main. took me 2 kills to get it and 4 days of camping. its not a bad drop rate actually, since i was 0/10 on hoo mjuu, and only 1/2 on argus. my friend is like 3/6 or something, before the rare/ex update, and he used all the moeny to craft

What job/LV were you and your friend? Should I worry about widescan for any part of this? Or just insta grabing claim within range?

Can anyone confirm the spawn time? I heard it was 21-34H... just need to get a TOD and show up between that time?

From what I hear, thats the spawn time. I also heard that back in the day it use to be a normal 2hr pop, but to battle gil sellers and bots they bumped its pop rate up to 24hrs+. But thats just what I heard.
I do remember though when they lowered the drop rate for the emp... Honestly though (a little off topic, i know) I think SE should return the origional pop and drop rates of these mobs now that their drops are rare/ex.

Easiest thing to do if you don't have a Time of Death (ToD):
Wait til the conquest notification every hour, go afk, then you will know about what time he spawned within the hour.
They you camp him, with the claiming system adjusted, Job Abilities seem to be slow, I get errors when I use darts or velocity bow. I also get errors with magic. I've tried every claiming method for spamming. I think it's all about timing now.
Some people wait til they see it with a red dot on screen or pop unclaimed then use their macro. I don't think it really matters much. Mostly about timing now and with this particular NM its about endurance too.

Argus is 18-30 hour spawn now (it used to be either 21-24 or 24 exactly, but they changed it in a feeble attempt to discourage monopolizing of the NM before they ended up making the drop Rare/Ex).
He shares a spawn with the Leech King NM which spawns in the leech room to the SE. That means that every 18-30 hours, either him or the Leech King will spawn, but not both. It also means that it is a bit of a pain to keep track of because if it is the Leech King that pops, you need to know when it dies (instead of Argus himself) for the following day's spawn window.
He's pretty low-level and is pretty easy to kill for a LV 75 job, so claiming (and actually convincing him to drop the amulet) is a much bigger pain than killing (which is the truth with most NMs these days).
