Playonline says servers are back up but i still cant log in, are ppl logged in yet or are things still not working right for everyone??

i have the same question, maybe FFXI is up but Playonline isnt
I cant log in to POL yet..
If i remember right, the servers are always up 15-30 mins before you can log on.

I am having the same problem as well, probably will iron itself out. Networks are flaky as it is, especially when they are constantly being "maintained" lol PLZ do not bash SE in this thread, i would love to see all those Flamerz put together and maintain a network that spans half the world.

Awhile back when the servers were down I would get a POL-0276 or something of the such shortly after the Verifying notice.
Connecting to Playonline... Verifying PlayOnline ID, PlayOnline password, and DNAS... Make sure the Ethernet cable is correctly connected.

ugh...thank god! I thought I was the only one not able to log into POL
i cant either >.<
I'm guessing that the servers are back up but POL isn't yet.

Friend and I were watching Scream 3 and my buddy was chattin on MSN and yells out "SERVERS ARE UP"!! we started running to our PS2;s to log in.

man i am so mad right now, this is my only day off and i have to wait for this damn server down for the damn whole day , i am feeling like break my computer and quit this damn game i hate is so much now

Actually during maintenance most of the day they showed as being in maint. Just not too long ago they came up but remember POL maintenance is until 20:00 so there's another ~30min left.

They're working on POL servers, not FFXI servers, so that's why the game servers are up but you cannot log in.
In case anyone missed it, the time for maintenance was extended by 2 hours.
So, that means 11pm est at the earliest. However I would not count on that either.
We will probably get another extension with SE claiming the hamster on the treadmill used for the power supply is missing from his cage.

i'm on, wow, was about to post about the wait and it connected :D, let's just see if i can get in the game
I tried to log on and got an error where my DNAS was not being recognized. Now, your DNAS is supposed to be automatically set. I remember having the problem with this during the last update when I was off FFXI for two days. I remember calling SE and explaining the problem. The SE rep said the problem was with my ISP. I then informted him that I would for that ISP (being Comcast). Dead silence. Then he gave me a DNAS server to connect to directly. I put that in and linked up. Between then and now, I switched my DNAS back to automatic. After trying a few times tonight, I switched it back to the DNAS and now I am getting the busy instead of not able to locate DNAS server.
Here is my theory.
SE temporarily disconnects some of the DNAS IP addresses to allow people with slower connections (i.e AOL, Earthlink, DSL) to connect while us who have a cable connect suffers. I know this might sound crazy to alot of you but when massive amount of people suddenly get booted, we are all cable subscribers whether its Comcast, Time Warner, etc.
Once again, call me crazy but I think I am on to something here.
