Alternate Level 73-75 Hunting GroundsFollow

#1 Oct 13 2005 at 7:58 AM Rating: Decent
I was wondering if we could setup a niice thread for people that have new/differnet ideas about where to exp party at this point in your progress. I wanted to set something up b/c i just took a party exploring into uleguard range and found a nice spot to camp fighting the Kindred and those Ahriman up there. Hard battles but a good party setup could clean up on the exp out there I feel. Also this could be especially helpful for those who have Non-Sky ideas b/c the parties these days do not always have 6 members with access and there is good sense in knowing your options.

Please post back with your ideas or comments! ^-^

The reason I would want a Sky alternative is for Friday nights when every single camp in sky is taken... and there are about 15 xp parties in Bibiki Bay...

Here are the places I can think of for xp 73-75

Sky
Bibiki Bay
Moon
KRT
Ulegarand Range (sp)
Kuftal Tunnel
Lufaise Meadows
Sea (manaburn)

Just to empasize what Stonar said

Sky = (war partys,Rng partys, normal partys)

Bibiki Bay = normal xp party but slower xp

Moon = normal xp party

KRT = monk party

Ulegarand Range (sp)= normal party (Tunnel near Jourgmand )

Kuftal Tunnel = normal party

Lufaise Meadows normal/war/blm party

Sea (manaburn) = blm party

Beacidine glacier = normal

any other ideas would be nice as either the xp is subpar or ive been to the same camp so many times its boring as hell

Bones - King Ranp's Tomb (Generally MNKs and BLMs go here)
RDM Weapons - Moon (I hate this EXP at 73-75 though)
Decorative Weapons - Main building
Decorative Weapons - Water path
Aura Statues - Ulli Camp (IT Party setup recommended)
Aura Statues - Celestial Nexus (IT Party setup recommended)
Birds, Rams - Lufaise Meadows (IT Party setup recommended)
Demons - Uleguerand Range (Never been here personally)
Anglers? - Bibiki Bay (Never been here personally at this level)

Lots and lots of VTs in Sea. They have low evasion and reraise. Very fun EXP down here, and it's not just reserved for mana-burn.

Where is this Beaucedine Glacier camp? Or are people confusing this with Uleguerand range? That's the only place I've seen Kindred.

Yeah i haven't heard or seen any camps in Beaucedine Glacier.

Out of curiousity what do you kill in Kuftal Tunnel, the highest mobs i can think of are tigers, ***** and dragons but i was killing these at about lvl 70....any ideas?

In Kuftal Tunnel you kill everything as fast as possible. The idea is to keep the chain going as fast as possible and just burn tp when it's ready.

When you exp on T/VT mobs, it's not so much about the exp/kill as it is about keeping the chain going way past 5. BRD pullers are extremely good for this.

I've exp'd in all these areas except Sea (only duo'd so far), I'd have to say Lufaise Meadows and Uleguarand are my favorite out of the way spots.

I think Bibiki Bay, sky is mucheasier to chain the T/VT's at lvl 75. That is, if you can get a camp spot and hold on to it.

I have heard about the Lufaise Meadows camp. I was wondering if anyone could shed a little more light on the subject for us though. Like what camp positions are best, what you fight, what setups you have seen work. Also if you have any solid ideas on level capped area experiance Post as well. I have heard people solid chaining 250+ there.

This may not be exactly what you're looking for, but at 75 when you switch over to merits, a huge array of new camps open up to you that very few people have taken advantage of: level-capped areas.

There is no penalty to limit points in these areas, and plenty of IT mobs. I myself have gotten chain #4 for about 250 limit points just farming keys in Sacrarium with 4 melees and a rdm. I know a lot of people don't have full access to these areas yet, but a lot of the 75 crowd probably will on your server. Possible areas are:

3 Promyvions (30cap)
Phomiuna (40cap)
Riverne #A01 (40cap)
Riverne #B01 (50cap)
Sacrarium (50cap)
Promy Vazhl (50cap)
Pso'Xja (40,50,60, and uncapped areas)

I am not too fond of the 30 and 40 cap areas because you are still missing out on a lot of useful abilities at those levels, but it seems like the 50cap areas could be really excellent for a party that knows the mobs there. I especially would like to try a Bones party in Sacrarium sometime because that place is full of them. And besides the fact that you will probably have absolutely no competition for mobs, you can also get some great drops. Anyway, just something to think about - I really hope this starts getting more popular as more people are doing CoP now.

Let me just add that before 75 these don't seem very viable. There is still an exp penalty in capped areas, although you can still chain the mobs. You will also have the issue of not capping out skills, which of course is not what you want.

Now that I list these - has anyone really poked around in the uncapped Pso'Xja areas? I wonder if there could be any T/VT/IT mobs in there somewhere (but nuclear tonberries {no thanks}).

Normal XP set up works, suggest NIN as main tank though.

You fight the Big Birds and a Ram for a high chain. Careful of the Ram and his HP down move. It really sucks when he gets one of those off.

And, the above poster is right, Promys ae very good for capped areas.

Luffaise Meadows is mainly Giant Birds (Abraxas), though you can mix in Tavnazian Rams (AOE Max HP down is not fun though).

While the birds are mostly VT-low IT at 75, you can't take them lightly, particularly if you have a NIN tank and the bird uses its AOE followed by Triple Attack. If you've fought Perytons in the Valley of Sorrows back around level 60. you'll know what this is like.

They drop Light Crystals and are weak to Ice, so Darkness would gnerally be the preferred chain. They are strong vs the dark element however, and will frequently resist Sleep and Dispel. Most of their special moves are wind based.

Something to concider for Lufaise Meadows; Don't go without a WHM.

Max HP down from the rams, can be removed by anyone with /whm + Erase. But the Rams also have a directional petrification move which can really cause alot of problems if you dont have Stona, and since thats level 39 its not a viable option as a subjob.

Its especially a problem should the MB or SC not kill the mob he turns, decides to do that move on your entire mage line. Can cause some serious issues.

I just wanted to mention, that Newtown movopolis has a load of T and a rare VT mob at lvl 75. If you are looking for key items for ENM, or have a lvl 70 party, you could try this.

Evryone has already mentioned all the 75 camps io know of, but i though some people might find NEwtown interesting (and more fun then bibiki with no competiotion).

You don't have to manaburn sea :o we made about a 7k per hour average with PLD, NIN, NIN, WHM, RDM, BLM

If people are into doing the T/VT chains, I'm curious why more people aren't setting up experience points parties in Boyhada Tree against the Goobues that reside near the zone to the Cloister of Storms. Aren't they still T/VT at 73-75?

There are *dozens* of them, and no one ever seems to take advantae of this, not to mention that you'd get some nice drops.

Thoughts?

The goobues are actually DC to T at level 75. I know because I've spent an ungodly amount of time soloing there as level 75 bst. These are good exp around level 69-70, but they still always hit REALLY hard and have some bad TP moves. Not as much of a problem with ninja... except for AoE silence :(

Even in duo, the goobues don't give much exp. Use the bark tarantulas and darters in Dragon's Aery, they're great exp until level 71... but after that they start to fall off too.

Luffaise Meadows camp I think is ok 73-74, at 75 it becomes poor. At 75, Xp of 110-140 per kill(abraxas), long pulls which can very often get the puller killed and nasty mobs(nin tanks have lots of fun on these >.>) Ive had merit parties here and we closed chain with rams(IT), chain 5 for 220-240xp. As was said the max AOE HP down is really bad, 75 pld went from 1300HP to 300. We quickly erased everyone and put there HP back up but it drains all the MP and if the mob gets a lucky hit or does an AOE it could kill a lot of the pt. Abraxas are very resistant to sleep and Lullaby so don't even try brd pullers or manaburn(saw a pt of blms try this not long ago o_o)

Ulle range is a pretty decent but there are lots of true sight mobs on the way to the camp. People often get aggro along the way so its a lot of hassle but ok once you get there. Also good spot for manaburn on bison.
