Survey says? BZZZZZZZZT! They just fixed this in yesterday's update. If you hit for 0, you get no skillups.

New term: "Kraken Post"
I've only had 1 person with a Kclub ever in my XP party. It was on Hobgoblin Anglers in Bibiki bay (69-71 xp area). We asked the guy with the club to not use it any more after about a half an hour and a couple bomb deaths because he would bomb toss before I was even done with debuffs usually. I can only stun every 45 seconds as BLM/WHM and the goblin was dropping bombs every 15-20 seconds. The warrior used smash axe as he could but in the end it was a big pain in the ***.
Kraken clubs are cool in ballista, and hella fun when used DRK with all his buffs up (incl blood weapon) on some HNMs lol.

One sc kills the mob? How does THAT change what I just said,you just proved my point. Suppose you bring in a mob,sc,BLM bursts and its dead. (and yea,Ive seen this plenty of times) Tell me how fast the next one dies? Sam gets tp every 3 min with med,and gains extra tp from melee,everyone else has to wait just like normal. If you can do more skill chains,mobs die faster. If your parties are too lazy to do skill chains.... we wont even go there.

In specific situations, Kraken Club is quite simply the most overpowered weapon in the game. It just all depends on the situation. Anyone who uses a Kraken Club in an exp party against monsters with a nasty TP ability is a dumbass.
But anyone who says Kraken Club isn't overpowered has obviously never seen a DRK/NIN solo Adamantoise in less than 30 seconds with Ridill and Kraken Club, or a DRK using all of his abilities (Souleater, Last Resort, etc.) do a full 10% damage to Tiamat before his abilities wear off.

hitting for 0 will still proc skillups. Many a time taking a ceremonial dagger out for dagger skillups is the best option. 0 dmg, low delay, you can skill up on the same mob forever.
Should you be worrying about Skillups in a party? No! Your here for XP, be the most effective you can be, not maxing our your skills. Thats what Skillup parties are for.

Im 66,thats way out of date. Gobs in bibiki are not the ONLY thing to level off. I admit,they would be a poor choice. Try something that cant one hit you. Try the dhalmels,we were getting about 6k an hour there the other day mostly off the dhalmels and birds with a few gobs thrown in. They only gave us about 150-250 each but we got good chains and they went down fast with zero down time. We avoided the gobs that day becuase it just seemd to be a bad day for bombs. There are plenty of things that we dont fight becuase they dont go well with our party styles. Who fights undead? It can be done,but most people dont.
