Randomly alla will log me out of my account and when i try to log back in it tries to go to the log in page but fails and just refreshes the current page i am on. I pay for a premium account and lose access to what i am paying for. How i have to fix it, is to clear cache and reload chrome. Is this a chrome issue? or alla? Is this happening to anyone else?

I would say that would be a problem with your browser. I use chrome myself and I've never been logged out before.

You might want to run a thorough malware scan. Try the free version of malwarebytes.

If, for some reason (like CCleaner, for instance) you may clear ALL cookies, ZAM will reset to the login screen.

If it does, go to account (upper right corner) and log out (it will let you do this even if it shows you are not logged in) [if premium account].

Log back in.

TA-DAA!!

(If this doesn't work, let us know).

ALSO: I'm Firefox

Same problem for me. No cookie cleaning done. Started Dec 23rd.

In Chrome I try to log in and just get redirected back to the same page with no login screen showing (this is on eq.allakhazam.com). If I go to the login page manually (secure.zam.com) I can log in, it shows my user name up top, but when I go back to eq.allakhazam.com I am not logged in. I've tried logging out on the zam.com page, and then logging in again but with no change.

I am using Adblock on Chrome (disabled for allakhazam pages), and Ghostery. I've tried disabling ghostery but again no change.

Tried it on Edge browser and it's fine.

So you are going to https://secure.zam.com/login.html?action=login and checking to remember your password? It should never log you out if you are using the same computer and have logged in with it before and checked to remember your password and haven't cleared your cookies.

I got a feeling the ad system is causing issues with the links working correctly when it's going crazy with ads. An ad blocker doesn't really help with chrome because ZAM's ad system ignores it. For those having issues with this, try using Firefox or Edge, something non chrome engine based (chrome, opera).

I usually use Chrome, with uBlock Origin for ad blocking and Tampermonkey with an Anti-Adblock Killer script, but those haven't mattered for my browsing of ZAM since I have a subscription. Just providing the info for troubleshooting purposes.

Recently, I have run into the same problem posted here, where the EverQuest section of ZAM thinks that I am not logged in. If I click the Login button, it merely refreshes the page. This remains true even if I disable uBlock and the AAK script. The link for Create Account does the same thing.

When selecting the Premium Services link, I am taken to the page describing ZAM's subscription, and that page shows that I am logged in. From there I can force a logout, then the Login link works again and I can remain logged in. So there is the solution to ZAM treating you as both logged in and logged out at the same time, but I'm not sure what caused the Login link to stop working in the first place. I have not deleted my cookies or browsing history recently.

I emailed ZAM a few days ago about this issue. They copied their ops team in on the email. Hopefully they'll figure out what's going on with that.

This is most likely an issue with their advertising platform which targets chrome users. For everyone having this issue, for the time being I would suggest using a non chrome based browser such as Firefox or Edge.

After being gone for a year, I tried logging back in via Chrome and it was just a nightmare. The page won't display properly and it treats it as though it's trying to run an unsafe script. I just assumed that this is due to one (or more) of the security and privacy extensions I have installed (including AdBlocker). I tried disabling extensions but eventually gave up and used my more vanilla version of Firefox instead.

Just an update since i started this thread. Still happens from time to time and only way i can fix it is to close the tab and open the settings tabs in chrome then clear cache and cookies for all time. Then go to main zam site and log on in. Then i can use my bookmark to go back to alla and then click log in. This will let me log in like normal and everything will work fine. I do run Adblocker but i don't run ablocker on alla's domain, but since i am premium account adblocker should not matter. I have not changed anything as new virus protection or anything like that. I do not have any malware or detectable viruses.

I'm not having display issues using Chrome on my work computer, which is nice. I'll have to take a look at my home computer later on today. Perhaps the Chrome issue is solved for me. That would be nice considering that my bookmarks app currently doesn't play nice with Firefox Quantum.

At home, the current culprit seems to be the Chrome add-on KB SSL Enforcer.

Been happening to me for about 6 months or so. I have no problems staying logged in with Chrome on one of my computers, but can't on the other. And it won't let me log in, just refreshes same page. I have to use Edge to get in. Did the nonsense deleting cookies, etc. and it worked for maybe one day, then back to the same thing. So I gave up. Just use Edge for it now, Hate it, and don't understand it, but that is what I have to do! And, my other computer has absolutely no problem with Chrome.

So if you leave your browser open on the front page for lets say over 10 minutes and you try to click on the log in link, it just refreshes the page and doesn't let you log in?

What happens when you click on this link while you are logged out? Does it take you to the log in page?

I've got an idea what is causing the page to refresh instead of logging in, I just need to be able to replicate it to determine the exact cause.

Do you use Spybot (Search and Destroy)? I've had some weird issues with that after a scan. It eats cookies. I suspect it occasionaly blacklists them, but I can't prove that.

FWIW.

I can't leave Chrome open on the page for 10 minutes. The screen goes blank, and says that "Snap" something didn't work right. When I went to your link above, it still wouldn't let me log in, just kept refreshing the same page with all the ads. When I followed what Kory said, Went to Premium Services link, which shows I am logged in, and did a log out from that page, then went to log in, the login worked. However, the forum page is a totally different color?? Blue and white with tabs up top for Wowhead and Hearthhead which are not on my normal brownish and white page that says Zam Everquest. THEN I went to my shortcut again on my google bookmark bar, and when I clicked in, it loaded up fine, showing me logged in without all the ads driving me crazy! I shall see how long it lasts! By the way, not sure if it matters, but my shortcut link goes to the page that shows EQ Update #'s, with all the quick links on the right. Not sure if that is the actual home screen.

The blue and white site you're seeing is the http://legacy.zam.com old website that was used to tie all the other allakhazam platform websites together. You can look at the forums and wiki pages for Everquest but that's it. For everything else you'll have to go to the main website at https://everquest.allakhazam.com.

As far as the page refreshing when clicking on log in, hit refresh until the page actually refreshes or close out the tab and come back to the site and then click on log in again. Sometimes ZAM's ads overload the browser to the point where it can't do anything and clicking on links doesn't work because the browser is overwhelemed. It's a problem with their ad system. I would either sign up for a premium sub so you won't see any ads or try using another browser such as Firefox which doesn't have any ad issues with the site.

FWIW, Pani, I've used Firefox for years with everquest.allakhazam.com with nary an issue that wasn't the sites' fault (rare).

ETA: I'm premium.

Good deal. I'm logging ads right now to see if I can catch what ad server(s) is causing the problem.

Ok I looked into it. It's the same ad issue ZAM has had for a while now. It's loading too many ads and overwhelming chrome to the point to where it can't respond. Usually this happens when more than one video ad is playing. I would avoid clearing out cookies for this site so it won't log you out. That way you don't have to deal with having issues logging back in again.

If you do get logged out again, I would bookmark https://secure.zam.com/login.html?action=login and just go directly to that link instead of going to https://everquest.allakhazam.com to log in. If you are already using that link to log into the site and it's taking you to the old legacy.zam.com site, then you are probably blocking javascript with an extension or have javascript turned off for the site.
