Thu: Grouping with friends (37 monk, 37 cleric and my 33 beastlord), hunting in Stonebrunt Mountains and The Overthere, not very satisfying. Exp came very slow. Hope it will be better this Thursday.

Fri-Sun: No EQ for the rest of the week.

Hope your weekend was more interesting...

Exp in The Overthere and DSP was always painfully slow. You guys need to try Crystal Caverns. That zone is absolutely awesome and you will become rich beyond your wildest dreams. You will need invis and levitate to make the experience a lot easier.

Spent majority of weekend doing other stuff then EQ :-( Did manage a bit of exp in Dulak and working on my 2nd AA point.

On the advice of a buddy of mine, went out and rented the old movie "The Warriors" to get a litte background of the game I purchased for my PS2 of the same name. Good movie and Rockstar did a kickarse job of translating it into a video game. The game rocks and is a nice break from the MMoRPG's.

CC does have good drops and the XP is pretty good there.

Fri: Raided the Dragon in POV. Went pretty well. After all tanks on the MT list went down, I checked the Mobs health B/C I couldent find a tank to heal. It was at 3% Cleric Nule FTW =D
Sat: Rolled a monk and screwed around with it. Did a creator mission.
Sun: Played with the necro for a bit xping in the dreadlands.

Well I dinged 37 on my newbie bstlord. Although I'm having fun with EQ again, I gotta say I'm a bit disappointed with the pet. My pet has been light blue to me for 2 levels and still have 2 levels to go until a new one. I never realized the relative levels between the bstlord and his warder were that great. Even when I hit 39 and get a new warder, he will only be lvl 30 himself :/ He gets his *** smacked everywhere I go now.

Anyway, picked up most of my xp in Nedaria's landing in the bear caves. Great little place. Picked up about a stack of HQ Bear skins in the process.

If you think your pet stinks and 4 levels is a long time, try an enchanter.

I got a pet @ level 48 and don't get my next one till level 55. Thats 8 full levels of exp!! I am level 54 atm and have a long way to go...

It's like 10 levels between pets......I got my current pet at lvl 29. I don't get a new one until 39. I'm not complaining so much, I'm having a blast with him, I just thought the bstlord warder would be a bit tougher considering they are a "true" pet class.

THU: Raided Kael and took down Vindi. (Yeah for us! Smiley: yippee)Grabbed his BP for my Paladin:Chestplate of Vindication Dinged Paladin to 59!

Fri: Brought a guild group to MPG. Results were less than stellar. Smiley: lol

Sat:Put togther a mini-raid with officers for BoT tower. My guild starts our new raiding schedule tonight so we wanted to get the lay of the land.

Sun: Did MM's all day. got guildies some nice upgrades and collected 9 AA's and almost to 67. Was fun.

Mon: We bring our first full guild Raid force to BoT towers! Wish us luck!

had loads of fun, with GF being away Smiley: grin

Sat:
got my staff of elemental flux, only took me 30 mins ish :)
went to Chardok B, guildie got the Rock-Molded Wristguard. Tank left, and we then keept on killing with Ranger as MT for a while, until we had to leave.
guildie then showed me the sentients camp in WL (crushed diamonds). not one single drop, but hey. soloed a bit there, until I figured, that magic based nukes work best. man, sometimes I forget about the versatility of a wiz...

SUN:
went for breakfast with a friend. champaign and fresh orange juice. not too shabby ;)
got home after a walk, then started questing. pickup group, EC LDoN. we all did quite well. only warrior#2 (who wasn't MT) was a bit miffed, when we told him, that he needs to have low aggro weaps too... then off to PoV, nice groupage (outer camp). parchment dropped, and I won the roll. Smiley: smile went to bed at 2 a.m. ;)
oh, what I forgot: while I was grouped in PoV, guild raided South Karana. Hilarious guildchat Smiley: grin

Yeah, realized the same thing... The BL pets are a bit too weak in my opinion...

What about soloing in CC? Dangerous at lvl 33? Many roaming mobs?

CC can be rough without some sort of snare/root (killing the orcs anyway). Terrors/spiders/geos isn't a huge issue with dealing with runners but you would probably need to be a bit higher lvl to efficiently kill those.

Take the Great Divide stone and head east to the eastern wastes.

Get a good map of the Eastern Wastes. You are looking for an orc castle in roughly the middle of the zone.

Invis is a good thing to have as many of the roaming mobs are con yellow and red to you @ level 33-37.

Invis up before entering the orc castle. Head left and go around to the back. There is a door, open it and then click on the crystal on top of the pedestal. That will zone you into Crystal Caverns.

Once you are inside you will be hitting orcs and shaman orcs. The shaman orcs run fast so make sure to snare/root any orcs fleeing (which they do @ 20%). The zone is a tunnel and therefore can be very confusing. You can pull about 5-6 orcs near the entrance. Some are single pulls and some are doubles. If you get in trouble you can rezone into the eastern wastes and just stay inside the little room with the door. Its a safe area. Just don't head out without invis.

Grab some gate potions, invis potions, and leviatate because there are some nice drops in Crystal Caverns. The gate potions will help you with the return back to pok when you are full of acrylia ore which sells for lots of plat in the bazaar.

There is a bank way down in CC in a small dorf town but I doubt it that you can make it there @ your levels.

Good luck. Exp is great in this zone and so is the loot.

As far as CC goes once you are at the bottom of the ramp wether thru lev, walking or jumping, ( Dont think more than 1k worth of damage, but all the orcs will aggro you if visible)
it is a relatively easy stroll to the dwarf town.
You can bank there, but will need to kill around 40 orcs or have sneak to sell to the mercants. Courtin got indifferent status by running around getting aggro and then using aoe spells to kill. Of course he was 51 and the orcs were all green.

All the mobs in CC do run. Snare/root is very helpful, and almost necessary.

My weekend. Friday logged on ranger to hunt in stonebrunt. Had some tiger skins and panda claws in bank to clear up. Also found some kind souls have been selling the panda claws to merchants. Made two wakisahi of the Frozen skies, and need only some tiger skins to make two more. Also received another tribal head band. Worked on 2hs and 2hb while hunting. Snare, fear animal and wack away. Sent Winjon on a small scout mission to Mistmoore to pick up the dusty ribcage for the Divine Might spell. Green aggro but found the mobs dont see invis.
Saturday Winjon got into the garden for his drop, invis dropped and had a few min of fighting as the mobs aggroed. Luckily they were mostly green and didnt do a whole lot of damage. Some guild mates came along while I was fighting and helped me complete the pick up. Then I looked at the write up and saw the drop had been moved into lesser fay when MM was revamped. Felt a bit silly over that as I had put off looking for it.
Then did a LDON with guild, picked up a potion of transformation in loot and made progress on my first aa.
Sunday didnt play eq, but made some money on traders.

(Edited to add weekend activities.)

Friday: Hit Dawnshroud Peaks with my 30 shammy. Exp was decent killing Zelniaks, but not great. Fell in with a pick up group for a while. Slowed way down then, but it was good to get some group action to keep my skills up. I could solo all day but it's nice to get that needed experience of how to work in a group situation for later.

Saturday: Played around in DSP some more, hit 31 and got bored with the zone. I went to the Overthere but the exp was much worse than I remember, and there was only one group there doing the PL thing. I went to the TOFS briefly, long enough to hit 32. I got a few adds and made it out with 9% health, only to get hit again as soon as I zoned out. I escaped somehow and gated out as soon as I had enough mana to hit gate.

Sunday: Helped a guildie for a bit with my Paladin in Kael, trying to get some staff off of one of the giants in the Plate house. Then took the shammy down to Gunthak to the beach for a bit. I fell in with a 38 bst, after a bit he said he found a group for us in Dulak's Harbor. We headed there and basically was in a PL group for a few hours. Got well into 33 by the time I left with only one death from some high level training the whole zone over us.

After that, I took my Paladin to UP to set up and hopefully get my druid some Elysian armor. He's been running around in acrylia stuff for ages. I know Elysian is not the best for a druid anymore (or even close) but it's way better than what he has right now and all my funds are going to my shaman. I killed a few elysian remains, they're still pretty tough. None of them dropped squat. We'll see how long that lasts.

Sorry to bring this up again, but under these circumstances, it will be very difficult to solo CC as a Beastlord... The only spell to slow a mob up to the 40ies is Drowsy (lvl 20; Sha's Lethargy at lvl 50), and AFAIK it only reduces attack speed, not moving speed... Any ideas? A procing aug maybe?

Fri: Raided. then LFG

Sat: LFG

Sun: LFG .....

Mon: Rolled a beastlord. Did kinda like my sk though.

well, the only root proccing weapon for a BL is the one Grizzeknot drops afair.

should be doable at your level, but having someone with track would be a big plus.

and yes, slows only reduce the mobs attack speed, but never the mobs runspeed (which is snaring).

An interesting weekend for me.

I finished my app process for an FV guild. I am now up for voting and my fate is being decided so I am hoping I get in! I am having a lot of fun in EQ right now.

I also finished a lot of applications for RL jobs and had a response finally. God I look forward to going back to work.

I had a nice dinner out this weekend and also watched "the corpse bride" which was a wonderful film.
