I have just started playing again on a very casual basis after a year or so of not playing. I have changed server, to start from scratch (and also in the hope of seeing Tacosid online for teasing).
The first thing that has struck me is that the tutorial is actually bloody brilliant. Really really good. It is a shame that it took so long to do something like that - engaging quests for meaningful experience, that teach the basics of the game, in an environment where you can meet other new players! I am having a blast in there. It has really sparked my interest in EQ again.
So what other big game changes have there been outside of the tutorial? The last expansion I really played was PoP (as far as being elemental flagged).

Lots of the Asylumites play on Povar, so I made a Bard in order to chat to them. Tutorial has sucked me in.
Aye Pat. I love the new tut. Lots of missiong, decent loot, much more room to move around in. It's a great thing!

What ever happend to the old days of wandering th Nektulos forest and sitting at the newbie log? ahhh those were the days. I wandered around for days getting killed and getting lost and i lost loads of noob gear due to losing my corpse he he. That was sooooo much fun :). I've never been in the tutorial for more than level 2 so i wonder if it is as much fun. I did notice that they revamped it a bit though to be a bit more noob friendly so the new players have a some sort of a clue how to play since this game isn't exactly easy to catch on to.

Pat, when you're in-game, join the channel "audesapere". Most of the Audes are in there so we can chat with the Asylumites, then poke fun at them in guild chat.

Some people are like slinkies, they aren't really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs.
tutorial is very nice for the actual "new" player.
gets you to lvl 10 fast, makes you learn to group, learn how to do basic quests, and actualy rewards you with some gear with stats.
