Well my ranger has yet to spend any time in paludal. See I went to lavastorm and stonebrunt mnts. The tasks that can be done in both places are great exp and money. The Lava tasks are found in that zone and the Stonebrunt tasks can be found in Toxx forest.
Oh and at 36 I only use root and shoot to maintian my archery skill.
You forgot to mention to spend some time working up conjuration skill. :)

I have 68 (69 friday), and soloing in griegsend (I melee)for regular xp (about a blue blue and a half regular xp an hour, isnt hard at all.
About choosing to be a bow ranger, or a melee ranger it fluctuates with gear and equipement, it isn't really an all your eggs in 1 basket deal.
I think the rt to 68 I took was
Qeynos Newbie zone, (near surefall)
Blackburrow
Paludal Caverns
Netherbain
Dawnshroud / Overthere
Dreadlands
PoI, Pov, Velketors
Griegs
Nobles Causeway / WoS
Griegs again. Cant sell those pos loots, sorry for wasting people time with this post. Sorta.
