Please Help Me Not Get Sued!!!(serious topic)Follow

#1 Sep 25 2005 at 3:27 PM Rating: Decent
I know this might not being completed related to the game Everquest, and I know I joined this forum just for this one topic, but please I NEED SOMEONE'S HELP!!!!!!!!!

I'm making a short 1minute film for a film festival I entered and I found a perfect song for my silent film on newgrounds.com. Out of 21reviewers on the song one said he stole it from Everquest one, Plane of War.

I can't have a copyrighted song in the film festival or I'll get sued for way more money than I have. I'm asking you guys that actually play Everquest to PLEASE help me by telling me if this is indeed copied from Everquest.

This is really urgent to me, please reply as soon as possible!!

The website is below. The songmaker has the song titled as "el corona". I can't stress this enough! Please, if any of you have a kind soul help a struggling film maker out!

It is definately Everquest music.

I'm away from home this weekend, but it I think it is the theme music for the Temple of Solusek Ro instead of Plane of War.

And the original poster didn't even have have to "rip" it - many of the game's songs are mp3s that sit right in the game's directory.

Correct, it didnt make it in. From what I understand, it had major technical problems that prevented it from being used. You do have some of the files, including the zone music, in your EQ folder however.

Thank you so much guys. It would of been horrible for ME to get accused of stealing the music from Everquest if I got it from this guy who actually did.

Much appriciated.

Yea Solusek Ro's tower. They did not compose that, it was directly copied

And as for the Plane of War the file and music is in your Everquest directory. I have seen it through alternate means and it is really ashame SOE doesn't do something with it (if nothing else make it a big PVP zone like The Arena).

ITs basically a big zone with a wasteland looking field. There is bunkers and such set up on each side. There is also a unfinished fort on one side of it.

Planes of Power had the best music of any Everquest expansion. Sony actually contracted another company to do the music (if you open the mp3 files up in the directory it shows the company who made them).

I think Sony should get sued for Kotaz music. It sounds like Star Trek music to me.

Contact SOE and ask them if you can use it the worst that can happen is they may ask for royalties or say no. But either way no matter whos song you use you will need to get permission to use it to be legal.
