I don't get it.

I have never seen anywhere NEAR the amounts of XP people are saying they are getting from these monster missions, even after the nerf.

I am level 54 and last night I did an Orc mission from Nektulos with some folks in a pick up group, and the day before that I did the shroom one.

After the Orc mission I got exactly 20% AA XP, while the rest of the people in my group got about 90%t AA XP. (I had 100 percent XP torwads AA's at the time)

Got pretty much the same for the shroom one.

If I got even 50 percent of an AA for doing a MM that would be sweet beyond words. Then again, that would give me a sense of accomplishment and that I actually did something worthwhile. Don't think that's what SOE is going for. /shrug

When/how/where are people getting 80 percent(!!) of an AA for doing a Monster mission?.. is it level specific? I thought it wasn't. The people in my group varied in level from 52 to 68.

I feel exactly the same way:

Since the MM nerf, I have done the Faerie mission and the Shroom mission. In both missions, I recieved 2 blues (8%) at 100% real xp, or 24% (6 blues) 100% AA xp. I did one at 50/50 and got 4% real and 12% AA... so there's definitely a consistancy.

Like yourself, people in my groups both higher and lower level than me claimed to recieve significantly more AA or real xp.

At this point, I don't do MMs anymore, and I won't until 61 when I can recieve the max stats item rewards for the few things in MMs I would like. For xp though, I would much rather hunt normally and not only recieve skillups and loot for my time, but also get to actually play the character I created and spent a lot of time and plat working on.

Or. . . It is finnaly balanced to be giving a larger reward to higher level people than to lower level people. The items scale in power when u leave a mission if you are below level 61. It only makes sense that xp now does the same.

A perfectly valid argument, if it weren't for people LOWER level than me claiming to get more xp from the missions.

Not only that, you have to take into account xp scaling: the higher level you are, the more xp it takes to gain a level. If I MM with a level 70 character, they could conceivably get less percentage xp (say, 6% to my 8%) while gaining significally more xp than me (because their 6% is alot more total xp than my 8%).

And further, AA xp is the same for everybody, regardless of level. If I get 24% AA xp for a MM at level 56, and someone a few levels higher or a few levels lower is claiming to recieve 60-90% AA for the exact same mission, why should I continue to do MMs? Because either a) they're lying/mistaken, and the xp sucks for everyone, or b) they're not lying and I'm getting 1/3rd to 1/4 of their reward for doing the exact same thing they just did.

I did an orc mission last night, died just a the mission was won, and got zero experience. That was just plain wrong, especially since 3 or us got zero experience because we died about the same time. Our leader had thought it a good idea to lead the orcs in other direction than the DE, and it worked except that those of us who did it got nothing out of it.

Except for the above, I have not tested my experience since the nerf, pre nerf I got an AA with each mission at 65.

I cannot figure why you get less than those lower level than you, report as bug every time. And as I have said before, re-download the patch, do a complete file check before trying it again.

My 67 monk gets about 2 yellows of AA exp (30% going to AA) and about 4 to 5% regular exp when I complete a mission. This is as of today.

Word of advice is not to do the ones you can fail. The ORc mission is simple enough IF you got a group of people who can listen. But if your in a pick up level of all shapes and sizes you can expect to get a idiot who won't listen and you will fail and get nothing. It is crappy to spend any amount of time in a MM and then get absolutely nothing to show for it. Plenty of them are practically impossible to fail (IE the fairy mission in nek for example).

You are right I should have reported it as a bug. I just figured it would get ignored like every bug report I have ever sent, or that SOE would just say "bah, he's wining about not getting more XP.".. which would be a valid argument if everyone who completed the mission with me got the same crappy XP. I understand SOE's general game plan is to make sure that vast amounts of time and effort is expended for almost no reward, (1200 reds to level the shroud, ooookay, I'll get right on that) but let's keep it at least even if that's the way it's gonna be.

A dude that was two levels lower than me (52 to my 54) claimed to have received 83% AA.

MMs are very bugged at this time. If you choose to do one it is at your own risk of getting either low xp or no xp.

I did one since the last patch. Grouped with some people I didnt' know, played a class I didn't know, completed the mission, won the role on some nice gloves and had a blast.

Didn't pay much attention to the xp on my 62 Wiz, but must not have been much or I would have noticed it.

Having similar experience, others get nearly a full AA permission and I get 26%. I am level 59, while others have all been 66 or higher.

I don't really care about the exp, I did the orc mission the other day, and it was just really fun.

Not to mention weird since I've killed Emperor Crush like 30 times.

Butcherblock Monster Mission for me has been incredible xp for the work put into it. I have been 100% towards regular xp, and have gone from level 62 to 66 earning exactly 11% xp for each times thru. It takes my group of 4 people 15 minutes to collect 30 plundered loot from the bar, docks, and Port Authority. After that, we go afk on the docks for half an hour and do chores around the house until the timer runs out. Can't complain about 11% regular xp for 15 minutes of work with zero risk factor. Fully expecting a nerf, but praying it doesnt come to fast or to hard.

I did the BB mission with my 28 necro yesterday. I got 38ish percent exp. Really I dont think that is so wonderful at lvl 28 considering I could have pretty much gotten that much exp soloing in Meru Seru (or whever that luclin zone is). I think the rewards are much better for the higher end players.

The experience thing is strange.

Just for a reference point, last night I double-boxed and set my 53 cleric and 62 paladin at 100% exp. My friend set her 61 wizard at 100% experience. We did the pirate mission. Also, rather than run full-bore, we just aimed to beat the minimum of 30 plundered treasures (ended up with 38 after a couple of adds). We had a 66 bard with us as our monster warrior, but I don't recall how much exp she got.

Final result?

53 Cleric, 13% (playing as monster cleric)
62 Pally, 12% (playing as monster rogue)
61 Wizzy 15% (playing as monster chanter)

So it doesn't seem to be caster specific, loot specific, level specific, nothin'. We were all in a close range, but the alotment just didn't make sense.

Just pot luck I guess. *shrug*

From my experiences, with a lvl 54 Ranger, Pre nerf was 30 percent AA exp with 100percent going to it. I found that lvl 65 and up were getting almost a full AA or more. Everyone I ask concerning when to start AA's....always tells me it is better to wait till at least 60. This is mostly due to AA Exp being the same as lvl 51 even at lvl 70. So if I understand correctly, AA exp gets much better the higher lvl you are. In other words, AA exp is the same as regular at lvl 51. As you lvl higher, the regular exp gets smaller, but AA exp gets bigger.

Hope this helps.

Ah, I forgot to clarify in my message earlier - we went 100% regular experience. Olrec is right, when you go AA exp, you can definitely see a pattern. Regular experience, though? I'm still stumped.

Just to add to the "survey".

70th level Wizard doing Orc missions. I get about .97aa per win. I have noticed it varies a bit, however, that could be due to rounding.

I have had 3 instances in the past two nights were I did not get experience. Once was an Orc mission where Vodrak would not zone. I think someone zoned before he zoned (and was on his way out) and someone was dead. Not sure if both those circumstances caused him to freeze. We tried for about a half hour to get him to zone by killing orcs. The other two were fairy missions. In both cases, we got to the point in the quest where we had to zone, someone died, and someone else zoned before the player who died re-poped at zone in. We all tried zoning back in, waiting a few minutes and zoning back out.

Did you try training an orc on him? If an orc hits him, he begins fighting, and resumes walking when that orc dies. A group I was in had a simillar problem, and it worked for us.
