If you have DoD problems...Follow

i found this out last night. i bought and DLd DoD but didnt get the tooth for the free shroud. i went into the chat and a GM told me that since i didnt pre order it theni dont get it. i was kinda pissed....

I don't know anything about preordering but if you buy the box set you get the garg shroud AND and mount. SOE always gives away something with the box set and this expansion is no exception. It's SOE's way of supporting the brick and morter stores.

I did have a problem with my DoD. I bought the box set and did a /claim 6 and got the spirit shroud. then I did a /claim 7 and got the mount. Then I ported to PoK, sat there for a min checking out the mount when I get disconnected. When i get back I'm back in guild hall and my mount and shroud are missing and I am unable to /claim them. So I petition and explain my situation and they responded with that same misinformation about the preorder and I then ammend the petition and explain that both the mount and the should come with the box set and the next day a gm ran up to me and gave me my items back.

On the sameday a guildy was playing as a monster, died, summoned his corpse and he got disconnected. When he came back all of his gear was missing. He eventually got it back. It appears that it was a small rollback that caused all of the problems.

I bought the box. I never installed it from the box (I never use the box to install, CD's untouched), I downloaded it (a week before purchase). I got the 2 free gifts. I was talking about how to fix problems, not purchase the product. So I re-downloaded the expansion. It was already installed and registered. I just had problems. Re-downloading fixed the problems.

Up to now, I did not care about the "freebees" that went with the expansions. Furthermore, I had no use for a box and cds that I wouldn't ever need. In fact, if you ever have to reinstall your game, just about everything, expansion-wise, gets downloaded anyway. So, when presented with the choice of..

A: Not having to go to store
OR
B: Going to a store and getting some useless freebie and getting box and CD I would not need in the first place. (plus paying tax on the game)

I chose A and saved the trip.

Now, the latest expansion was an exception. I wanted the new/free mount and the plat I could get from then selling that toon's horse. Not only that but, Best Buy sold the expansion for $24.99 the first week. Since I have 2 accounts, thats a savings of about 10 bucks and worth the trip to get the freebees.
