Where does this item drop?

I don't know why, I feel like it's not even a real item, but I swear to you, that image is not Photoshopped, and was linked in General Chat last night.

Any info about this is GREATLY appreciated.

It's a rare drop from a moss snake.

I do not have a friend on any server that did not have this item linked to them last night.

There are a ton of items in the database that do not drop, and have never dropped.

If it something that drops in DoDH, someone will fess (to get their name on the item) and the delay will be "fixed" I betcha.

There's a bunch of database items that are basically only for testing and/or joking purposes that don't exist as obtainable items in game. There's a few other items that -do- exist in game that aren't meant really to be gotten- like mobs that are supposed to be unkillable having an item with a unique model is usually just an item given to them to hold for flavor and the look.

So, it sounds as though this is an unattainable item.

How did the person link it?

zero delay???

Wouldn't that mean that the mob would be dead as soon as you attacked it?? Unless it was immune to physical attacks.

You would start attacking it and you would hit it infinite times before it could whack you.

Keep in mind, this could all be bs. I heard 2 people selling looting rights for 100K in bazaar. I heard it is mostly for a pet toy, for those who can suspend pet so they don't lose it, because it doesn't work for toons, despite the all/all. One of the sellers claimed to have a 20 minute looting window open, and wanted to sell fast. The first time I ever heard of this item was this weekend. The people in bazaar were arguing about it.

It's probably just like that 100/20 sword that always gets linked randomly. I'm thinking somebody just knows how to mess with the linkage code and is making faked items in-game visible. It's definitely not real.

Sword of Ownage?

Only reason I ask is because that was linked directly afterwords...

Ya it has the special combat ability of:

----CRITICAL ERROR----
eqserver.exe has encountered an illegal divide by zero error while calculating weapon delay and must be restarted.

Oakwynd

I think Xythex is correct. a delay of 0 would either crash the sever, or as i suspect it would be treated as an infinite delay, as in you never swing. But that is definately not an item plays can get in the game )

edit: I like to edit!

This was most likely linked by an item bot such as Ximena.fenninro (which is not up anymore incidentally) just like items such as Oakwynd which cause a collective spooge among OOC each time someone pretends to show them off.

Another neat unattainable item (well someone must have attained it at some point for it to get it's name) is the Earring of Sad Exploitation.

The sword with high dmg and low delay referred to is the Big Soul Devourer.
#19 Sep 20 2005 at 9:59 PM Rating: Default
That is exactly the sword! People always link that and it's pretty well known by now that it doesn't drop, at least on my server.

Just to clear a few things up:

A 0 delay item would swing every 0.6 seconds. Even though the item shows at 0 delay, it is impossible to swing faster than 0.6 seconds.

Oakwynd is real. Very few people have it. It was given out at a few GM events in Lavastorm. **edit**: Even though the bow is 175 damage, it would still do the same damage as say a stonewood bow because of the cap on archery damage.

The earring once dropped off Lord Seru when people were using Gravity Flux and lev spells to reach a spot at the top of seru, so they could nuke him to death without any penalty, and hop over to his corpse to find this earring.

The Big Soul Devourer is also real. It dropped during halloween of 2003(?).

I know seru earring is real but I have a very very very hard time believeing that the bow is real =/

Big Soul Devourer i could almost see being real(though on BB I have never seen one) but only if the person was very set on corpsing every night............(shoot even though I've never seen this one I bet it's real one messup and it's gone =p) plus the bow would be type 8.........

Notice that it's NOT "Magic," so it'd be useless on a lot of monsters. A level 70 warrior with this would get killed by a willowisp.

Sure, until a druid were to cast a Firefist (level 6) upon theirselves, or a necro cast Vampiric Embrace (level 7).

Don't forget about the bardsong to make your weapons magic - think it's a group version too.

EDIT - nope, it's self only. But here it is anyway.

Close but not quite. He dropped his real items, but they were all shifted in the database to be the sad exploitation items when the loophole was fixed.

About the how to link unobtainable items, you can enter database entries and manually type it all out to duplicate a link.

Or.. just a thought.. maybe you can't use auto-attack but you can swing this thing as fast as you can hit the melee hotkey?

It sure would be nice to have a Big Soul Devourer, but you'd have to stay signed on forever to keep it.

    sweeet.
