Hey all! I started playing EQ right after velious came out and played on and off until LDoN came out. I just graduated USMC basic training and was thinking of jumping back into EQ during my spare time (provided I have any =/, the question is, is EQ still a "popular" game? Has the EQ2/WoW/whatever community taken over EQ? I know things are constantly chaninging in EQ, would it be difficult to start off from scratch? What is a decent green server these days? Any other input? Anything would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Eq still has a large following, SOE did cut the number of servers in half by merging the populations. The exsisting populations on servers is very healthy. On an average night there are around 500 players in Bazaar selling their loot. There will be a lot of catching up and new places to discover there have been 4 or 5 expansions that have come out.

This is a common question asked. Your toons sould still be there if they are over level 20. You just need to find correct server name and soe offers free 21 day trail to old players returning.

Have you gone to MCT yet? If not, you still have a while before you'll have time to play (I think MCT is 17 days straight in the field now with a few days in garrison... it was just 28 days with weekends off for me when I went through). After that, depending on what MOS you are, your schooling COULD be too demanding to allow for you to spend much time on EQ. It all depends on your MOS and how easy it is for you to pick it up. I didn't have time to do anything because I had to study my butt off. Learning to speak russian in a year is no joke. After you get to the fleet, you should have plenty of free time, unless you go on float or they send you to the sand box. Anyway, grats on the graduation little Devil. I just got out last week after 9 years in. My best advice: remember that it could always be worse and you're not the first to do whatever crap-job you're stuck doing at that moment. ;P

Sweet link Smiley: lol

Nice time to restart if the old account is irretrievable (If so .. /shame @ you for the 67 druid that didn't know any classes besides monks could 'lay down' to get rid of aggro or that any classes besides clerics could rez)

With the new DoDh expansion in 'buy our new expansion if you want to get a group mode' atm, there are monster missions where anyone 20+ can group with level 70s and they all get pretty decent exp without even having to play their class.
