#27 Sep 13 2005 at 4:53 AM Rating: Decent
Eh Vanguard will not be out soon. It will be out in 2006 and probably after July 2006, thats almost a year away.

So yeah i bought this expansion, there is no better game out there, even if EQ is old n buggy, its still the best.
(i HAVE tried all the rest too)

Bought the box at Gamestop. Just have to ride the motor-pig!

The in-box item is four postcards with Larry Elmore color drawings of some of the new monsters (a drachnid, a clockwork man, a werewolf and one of the new mushroom men). A little disappointing but I didn't buy it fot that.

I just picked it up, too, on my lunch hour at EB Games. They had plenty of copies, but only one non-reserved copy left of the EQII expansion that is also being released today.

Judging from the spelling and grammar, your brother is doing you a great service. You need to spend more time on homework and school than on a video game.

really? dressing like a mob doesn't interest me but evolving items sounds cool. THe kicker will be what AAs are available. I solo a lot and have seen the solo ability of GoD, OoW and DoN high level mobs without a cubic Bu#t ton of AAs so I am not too interested in hitting level 70 any time soon. If these AAs are just for 66+ plus then it will be several months before I have any need for this expansion.

Agreed.I have been the first to bash some of the expansions. This one I will not.Seems SOE got their heads out of their ***'s and gave the players their dream...to play a monster.Sounds like a new direction for the game.
Would like to see PvP expansion of it,monsters against the hero's.No hold bars enter any city, zone including the bazarr. That would be something to see.Guess Im still dreaming.

I do not plan to buy DoD until I loot glowing runes for both my druid and my cleric. ***** SONY if they think they are going to get more money out of me while they are so damn stingy with necessary drops (ie spells).

Through drops and new recipes in DoD, 69 and 70 spells from OoW can be researched

I bought my 2 copies yesterday. Both my toons have the mechanical boar and the Gargoyle spirit shroud.
#37 Sep 14 2005 at 12:20 PM Rating: Decent
I ordered the copy online--My only advice is to NOT take your shroud here without a solid group right now. Died 5 times walking around to check out the area. Most of the zones beyond Corathus Creep are Level 67+. Alot of the mobs see invisible.
My shroud does not have the nuking power to survive here alone right now.

Hi all,

I can only afford about 25hrs a week game time. This being said it's getting difficult to keep up with all the expansions. I've also noticed that alot of the older zones on my server (stromm) are starting to look devoid of PC's dunno if there just aren't as many people playing, or if there are so many options that we're all just really spread out. For what it's worth the social interaction of the game is what's kept me interested all these years. If all I wanted was fresh eye-candy i'd just play X-box.

Ya I bought the boxed expansion, and yep I have 3 kids a missus a mortgage and a Jack Russell.

Yep, I am a EQ fan and have been since before Kunark and kid #2 arrived.

Am I a power gamer, hehe, see statement #1.

Sure I'm glad the expansions come out as fast as they do with new content and new tricks.

True I havent had the chance (i.e. RL time) to fully utilize the prior expansion's content. Again refer to statement #1.
But I dont care.

I bought the boxed version for the Roboboar and Gargoyle shroud.

I have only ever bought the boxed version's all the way back to Kunark release. Mostly because of the ingame gifts they offer but also to have a tangable backup to help with dial-up load lag and proof of purchase.

Does the $30 bones upset me to pay every 6mos. or so?, pfft I'm over 30 and $30bones is 2 packages of Huggies #6 (not jumbo packages either).

As long as SOE keeps the juice to EQ, they will be on my monthly payroll.

Now if I could only get DSL or Satelite service in my area my gameing experience would be complete hehe.

Keep em coming SOE.

OK, I am a "DOLT"!

I should have use EB Games to buy my three copies of Depths of Darkhollow.
I am a premium member here, and the extra 10% off could have saved me some coin.

That and I used "Best Try" on line to order.

I suddenly went from pre order, to back order and my guaranteed next day delivery, well its now next week and hoping.

I called Best Try's customer servive number. You know their call center in(where was that?)oh yea, Malasia. Every time I said "I have ice cream", I could hear them drooling on the phone.

Well after several minutes of running up their transcontinental phone bill, by being placed on hold while they decided who was gonna play the part of supervisor for this caller, and shooting big holes in their scripts again and again. I decided to read the terms of use statement for the site.

Its 8 paragraphs that can be summed up in two words:"buyer beware".
The basics of it was, we can cancel/change/alter any part of your order at anytime we want, if it so fits our needs.

Sounds like congress took over customer service for them too.

Last time I will shop at Best Try on line for products.

Hello EB games, you have new customer. :)

The 10% you save ordering online is lost when you add on shipping cost =(. And the code draws very blank stares from the people behind the counter when you try to bring it into the store, especially since EB stores have been renamed Gamestop in my area at least.

I still order online.

1.) I usually can get thing at my doorstep on the day of release.

2.) I dont' have to talk to pimply faced fanboys that work in video game stores.

3.) I can be lazy!

I want it, But I am too poor to get it, runnin off a $10 coppy of plat right now, if it hadn't been fer the fact that it was only $10 I'd be stuck back in Kunark only.
#46 Sep 17 2005 at 5:55 PM Rating: Decent
Bought it this morning. Amazingly, I only paid $25 dollars for it even though the mark-up price was 30...

I wanted to order a copy at EBGames and use my allakhazam premium member coupon (10% off of Massively Multiplayer Games). No Austria in the list of countries EBGames is shipping to.

Thank you for contacting EBgames.com.

We currently do not take orders from, or ship to your country of
Austria. We regret not being able to do business with you. We apologize for the inconvenience and hope that we can do business with you sometime in the near future.

Finally got a boxed copy here in Vienna, just 5 minutes from my flat... and although it costed € 35.- ($ 41,88), I'm happy that I'll have a tinkered boar, too! Smiley: yippee
