DoT spells in ArenaFollow

#1 Sep 08 2005 at 2:03 PM Rating: Decent
Hi ,
Our guild is heading to the arena this weekend to blow off some steam killing each other.

We're confused about using DoT spells in the arena, some folks claim you will lose exp if killed by a DoT and still in the arena, others say it was fixed long ago.

Does anyone know for a fact if you this is true, or just an EQ myth?

Thanks
Glaschin 66 Dr00d of 7th Hammer

Supposedly they fixed it years ago but, as of 6(?) months ago, I saw someone delevel as a result of dying from a DoT in the Arena.

The way it was explained to me long ago, as long as you stay in the PVP area there will be no exp loss if you are doted and leave the PvP area there can be an exp loss. If you gate and die after zoning there will be an exp loss.

No, I've seen people lose xp in the PvP portion of the Arena. A guild I was in did PvP events where it was one on one and my opponent was rather vocal about how I caused her to lose xp with my bard chants.

AFAIK, you lose xp if the DoT kills you. You could be DoT'd and die from melee, DD spell, etc and not lose xp. But if it's the DoT cycle that finishes you off, you lose experience.
