i have preodered the download for 2 accounts and waiting to decide on 3 rd account to buy instore or online. if boar mount as fast as SOW 2nd horse leather i think then it could be worth buying instore instead.
anyone also know if it's head is always in the way while your trying to fight?
or if the movment is as anoying as the droges? can't remember how to spell the lizard mounts.
is the mount like vet reward one character pemantly? most likly but still want to know.
i kinda wish with these expansions coming out every 6 months that they would just add some platinum pieces to all who pre-order that would make it worth it to me, at least 5-10k per account, maybe make it none trasferable plat so IGE and the others don't take advatage. i could use theat kind of plat on my trade skill characters. i wasted 60k plat on alchemy on a 4 th account a had from a friend for 1 yr but he came back to eq, he gives me potions when ever i need but doesn't help my own shaman i'm now working on with the pp i need to skill up alchemy.
i have now finnaly figued out how to lvl from lvl 1-50 in a few game days after playing for 2 yrs, but plat is still very hard to come by, unless i do what most the others do farm silk. but so many farming that pp per stack less then 1/2 it was worth a yr ago.
even a lvl 40 druid can take gieants but still only a few 100 pp per hour and alchemy and other trade skills after lvl 100 gets costly. to play for 10-15 hrs just to get 3-4k pp and get from skill 130-150, and never mave the money for newer equipment suitable for lvl 40's, still using gear from 20's on 6 of my characters, sharing with the rest of them.
i know whinning... sorry just got off work long night. if not money drops better then maybe cost of tradskill supplied cheaper for under lvl 200, or even have trade skill items drop on critters more often. in right lvl ranges. oh and more armor and weapon quests for low to mid lvl too. i tried lvl 35 warrior barbarian quest not fun need good group to waste 3-5 hrs per half of quest. gave up quickly

The DoN in-game was usefull and very nice. iirc 10 insta clicky full mana or full health potions. I think the mount will be nice. It's good to see at least they're starting to put in usefull items.
What in Heaven's name does one do with No Trade plat? Perhaps they could code it to work with NPC vendors but I'm pretty well set for iron rations and bottles of milk.

ige some how has billions of plat and ruin the market for items.
using a no trade pp would be used on npc vendors only. usefull only for yes rations and water.
but also trade skills. right now whats the point on wasting so much money on trade skills when you can just buy it in the bazaar but costly there too, but quicker, trade skill were fun to do, i just like to see more improvments to it.
lower cost to items needed. more skill ups. like gate potions costly for a lvl 40 warrior who i lucky to get 3-400pp per night of fighting and hopfully not need to use the gate.
i love the potions for health and mana. made my gaming a lot more fun less down time and cost are right for them.
i do like the don expansion for the guild hall the most other then the bank space expasion.
i also love the attunable items, but i would like to see more useful items for lower lvl's and cheaper items for mid lvl's or better tradeskill made items for those lvl's that don't cost a ton.

No Trade Plat? They call that 'Adventure Points'...
Well, difference in opinion then. I'd be less enthusiastic about 5k in tradeskill plat than I am for a free mount (and none of my characters really need a free mount, mainly being melees and hybrids). I suppose I have a lvl 40 mage who could cash in her 9k horse and ride the mechanical bull but (assuming it's 9k speed) a mounted rogue isn't really practical

oh and for adventure pts that would be good too, i've done a few ldons and have a whole 5 pts. i wish there was more pts per success. i like the ver reward on 2 x exp for 30 min. give us that kind of reward for pre ordering expansions for all characters on the account.

Clearly the boar mounts will be available in 4 tiers just like the horses and drogmars, which is why the answer to the question is "They are the same speed as other mounts"
As for the freebie mount you get for purchasing the expansion in stores, I am willing to bet it's the tier one mount (9-10k mount).
If I remember correctly, didn't they give out the tier one drogmor as a freebie for purchasing LoY in stores? Same thing this time around, imho.

No, there was no LoY gift. LoY was going to be download only but folks threw a fit and SOE hastily slapped together some CDs for distribution. If you ever saw them, you'd immediately notice the poor production value: no box (just wrapped jewel case), the insert looked like it was run on a color photocopier, etc. The first "gift" started with LDoN and the weight reduction bag.
If the boars are for sale, it's a given that they'd correspond to the other mounts for speed. What people are asking is how fast the free mount will be, lest they give their one-shot reward to a character with no use for a Run2 speed mount.

The issue is the concept of IGE paying ~$60, $30 for an expansion plus ~$30 for the basic EQ box since the expansion requires an existing account to get 10k in plat that has a resale value of $5 is.... poorly thought out.

You can get a basic EQ account for around $5 via the SOE Digital Download store but your point remains sound

Since it is a tinker item I would think it would be upgradeable. Do a quest for some special cog and have a master level tinker upgrade it for you. Maybe I am dreaming but that would make since
ige can sell accounts fo 200-1000 $ just power lvl a class characters after giving money. for spending $60-90 for platinum CD's and newest expansion, and they can pwerlvl in 3-4 days to 65

No word on the speed yet. I'm hoping that it's one of those evolving items, and gets faster as it earns more XP. That would be really sweet.
It is definitely unlimited charges though.
