The EQ1 forum has been around a long-long time now.

After so many years what are the kinds of posts you still see time and time again? What posts never seem to go away?

The ones I notice: complaints about looting, 'I'm quitting' announcements, and 'newbie' questions.

Not in any particular order by frequency or irritation factor here's some:

"What's the best soloer", "What's the best duo", "What's the best group", "I've been away from EQ, what's changed", "Where's the best place for a level XX <insert class name> to make plat?".

They only come around once in a while but they come in bunches.

The ever popular patch day "Why can't I log in?" rants have to be up there.

Where do I find plat at XX level??

I understand that some of the things we "old-timers" know might be taken for granted, but there has to be a hundred **VALID** posts about where a person could solo or group for some quick money.

What it comes down to is that the person is looking for a quick way out, and doesn't bother enough to even look at a few pages of posts beyond the first page. THAT bothers me.

One of the most frequent posts around here, at least once a week, is the "original EQ only" crusaders, most of whom don't realize that Kunark and Velious, while part of the Classic set, are not "Original EQ".

Well, since you said "what posts" and not what questions ;)...

The first that comes to my mind are the "righteous anti-soe advocates". I love EQTC's rules because SOE-bashing is specifically mentioned. I'm pretty positive that most of said advocates don't even have grounds for their flaming, or at least have not actually thought through the logic of why SOE has taken X action (or the logic of why PlayerX might not know every little going-on and secret inside the corporation). In layman's (sp?) terms, there's a lot of bandwagon.

I was reading the poll-of-the-week about the frequency of GM events, and lo and behold, the usual flames made it in. They ain't going away :(

More like once a day. Annoying "it use to be so wonderful" posts. I was there, leveled Fallonn from 1 with no twinkage, no buffage, no pl. Weeks in the newbie yard. Spending a whole evening just getting to where you planned to try and get a group the next time you logged on. It was a PITA. Velious was the best. I came to enjoy Luclin. OOW, however, is really nice, and I like DoN. They do push out the expansions WAY too fast, tho.
