For fun thought in spare time would take my Ranger over to POM and solo every now and then. I have read there is a tree that will zone me out to CS (bottom of ocean and this is fine). Needless to say don't have port or gate. Gate potions are expensive so would drather zone back home and explore as I go.

I am not familar with CS at all. Is there a zone out there which will take me to another zone HeHe and another or whatever to get back to POK.

Worker Sledgemallet - quested item that procs a port to a safe landing spot in the overthere once you're 50+. All that's required is some faction work and a 5 plat jade from a vendor. You may need an illusion potion or a chanter/necro along to charm the faction turn in mob to get your faction started if you're KOS, but other than that its just killing a bunch of Sarnak Berserkers in OT and turning in their whips 4 at a time. If you're not a naturally gating class, this is an invaluable ALL/ALL way out of the dead end zones that seem to abound in the upper tier.

Potions won't work for a ranger to do the OT Hammer quest because the Outpost mobs are naturally KoS to any follower of Tunare or Karana. Wolf form might work for handing in braids, I don't know.

You might be able to have a friend charm the guard captain you hand braids in to but it'll be a long process with a lot of charming since it'll take a lot of non-stackable braids to get non-KoS. It took my shadowknight a good while and she didn't have race/deity/class issues to deal with. Having your friend charm the actual quest mob isn't an option since you need to be amiable+ to complete the quest and you're indifferent to other people's charmed pets. You could potentially use Puppet Strings to charm the hammer guy and do the jade hand-ins since you're amiable to your own pets.

A more Ranger friendly option is Tolan's Darkwood Breastplate which has a self port to G. Fay as its clicky effect. I'm sure those aren't cheap though.

Very easy and cheap to make. You just need to get pottery over 121 which you can do within an hour. You also need some coldain faction.
