Anyone else hear of this...
On Wed night before I logged, I had about 29K plat in my shared bank. I know it was there as I bought a stack of Bat Wings in the bazaar.
On Thurs night when I logged back in, it was all gone. I checked all of my toons and nothing....
Could this have something to do with the patch? Should I petition?

Petition with luck you may get it back if not they may be able to tell you what you did with it. If your account has been hacked change your password.
I've heard of pp disappearing from the shared bank before. It's not a common occurence and I don't know if there's a known cause of it, but many people refuse to keep pp in their shared slot exactly for that reason.
