Don't know if anyone has posted about this yet but...

Froggies are kicked out of Gukta..er...Grobb...They are now living in tents in the Rathe Mountains (South of Hill Giants).

Frogloks have new classes. All the old classes have the same deity as before except Clerics who get to choose between Mithaniel Marr and...Innoruuk! All the new classes (Rogue, Necro, Shadowknight) must be Inny.

Did not go into Grobb yet to see what the Trolls have done with it.

I was thinking they might put the frog city in the Swamp of No Hope, where there already is a frog city up on lily pads.

I'm talking out of my *** here, but didn't someone from SOE imply in one of the interviews that the frogs were getting a new permanent home more fitting for them? The Rathe Mts thing might be a temporary measure so they can test the revamped Grobb v2.0 on Test and unveil Gukta v2.0 when Darkhollow is released.

Just stating what I saw, making no claims about what the future holds. It is possible this is only on test and will only be on test. Tents look temporary enough heh.

Pretty sure the Innoruuk worshippers/classes will be there. My Innoruuk test cleric was indifferent to the Mithanial frogs by the way. The 'evils' have their own enclave in some ruins to the west of the tents.

I think I will make a Troll and see what is what in Grobb. Also see what happened to the Neriak FQ.

PITA is you have to take your new toon through part of the tutorial in order to escape to the main world.

Sounds good to me. I hate innothule swamp. Everytime I zone into it my framerate goes into the crapper and the only way to fix it is to log out and come back.

I wonder if my soulstone will take me to rath mtns now. /ponder

Evil frogs?! Kyanite would be rolling over in her (virtual) grave!

However, I can definately see the appeal. Frog wizards were (are?) very popular, so why not extend their field of influence towards the dark side.

Two things I'd like to know however: 1) How will this change factions for all frogs? Will they be let in to Neriak, Paineel, etc? and 2) What is the backstory for the new evil frogs? Certainly they can't just throw a few extra class options in there and expect people not to question why. Although this is SOE we're talking about, so I could see them doing just that.

Frog Beastlord... that would be fun ... having a Spider warder or maybe a Mosquito warder. :)

Bleh, finally em trolls get Grobb back!
Hope they re-enable Forager Bag quest again...
Ima want it on all me alt ogres. =p

Anyways, I bet the evil frogs got the influence of Inny and Lanys'Tvyl and thus turned evil. But reason why the good frogs that believe in Marr would aside with fellows who go along with Inny? That just doesnt make sense at all.. >_>

From what I saw on test, the way the deity for frogs shakes out is:

Warriors, Wizards, Paladins and SHAMAN (?) must choose Mithaniel Marr.

Necros, Shadow Knights, and Rogues MUST choose Innoruuk.

Clerics get a choice between the two.

So unless the wizard becomes a necro, he will not worship Inny.

Not sure why the Shaman does not get to choose, seems like a natural.

So will the Frog Clerics get to quest for the clicky snare necklace from Neriak?

It's probably too much to hope for that they'd slap a FRG tag on my Helm of the Vampyric Traitor, huh?

sounds interesting..however.. how can i make pp's without HG's? whatever. any yeah i think the frogs, as Bst's wuld have one of their mosquitoes or spiders as aa warder... or like a newt or a tadpole if SOE wanna be funny... now, lets c sum more races being monks.. like gnomes.... <laffs>
#18 Aug 11 2005 at 7:13 PM Rating: Default
all the other races beast pets have animals they compete with in the wild, not animals they eat (e.g. human wolf, troll gator, ogre bear). by this logic frogs should have snakes... plus there used to the the synthia quest where a frog had a pet snake that went missing.

In any event, using a tad would be like sending your toddler off to fight for you. Those are froglok children!

Actually the Barbs have the wolves, not humans. And the frog that's the animal tamer was also taming spiders and had one he was working with right next to him in Gukta/Grobb, and there were domesticated spiders and mosquitos roaming around town as well so any of those 3 would be viable options if they did decide to do frog beasties in the future.
