A lot of people ***** about anonymous posters, me included. I'm not going to give all these reasons why anonymous posting should be done away with. Many others have stated the facts much better than I can on many, many previous occasions. (If you want to rant pro or con on this, in this post be my guest)
What I am interested in is, what Alla and Illia's thoughts were on the subject and what plans if any they have to change the option of posting anonymously.

For what it's worth, I too would like to see the anonymous feature turned off. If for no other reason than the recent performance issues with the boards. Perhaps relieving the servers of the load of anonymous poster content would help eliminate some of the problems?
I'm getting used to them a bit over here. The quality has improved and the shear stupidity of most of them has diminished since the old forums originally moved. (../cry)
I have also noticed a tendency for most to register pretty fast once they either get themselves involved in a thread or realise that they don't have to pay.
Plus many with something serious to say do add a name tag anyway.
On balance my own thoughts are that the situation is getting better, and it does give those that are just **** scared of posting anything a chance to try the thing out. There is a lot more new posters and Allah, i guess, could tell you what the registration rate was.
I know there are a handful here that hate anon posting out of principle but, on balance the benefits probably outweigh the mafia mentality that rules over on oot.

Anon posting is disabled in OOT, so I really don't mind that it is on here. I think we get more people there. Maybe a sticky "How to register, It's FREE" thread might be in order, but at least this is not nearly as bad as the FFXI and SwG forums used to get.

HAHA i enjoyed the posts which in turn explains why i think anon is still around. It humers us, it's there to make fun of a friend, and sometimes there to derail. All in all i think thier funny even if directed at me :) My 2 copper
