I thought this thread was going to be on items, in that case, I would have said a full set of Stonehide might be nice..

But, since you are asking what kind of changes people would like to see, I would like to see a few things.

For one, I would like to see more complex, intriguing, eventful quests in this game. These sort of quests ended when Luclin came out. Velious was full of these, such as the Kromrif Military Legs or the Shawl quests, Coldain Traitors, BoB, etc.

Secondly, I would like to see the GM's get tied to servers again instead of floating. This would do two things: Decrease the amount of time needed to get any service in EverQuest (I see people in Chat Server asking for GM help all the time) and also increase the amount of GM Events and perhaps the quality of them. The last good GM event I saw on Xev (besides 2001 Halloween) was an Orc invasion on Kelethin, led by a Lord Darish look-a-like lvl 55 mob and a 60+ dragoon, pictures (eh, need membership, oh well, thumbnails are there) if anyone wants them. Wish they had more of these fun events.

Last, I would like to see more fixes and completions of past content. Maybe some more additions to Odus too. Right now they are just rushing forward for the money, they have lost the orginal feel of EverQuest, they have lost the Vision.

I am with Psyo about the quests. Sony is getting less and less creative with quests recently and I wish they would spend some more time on them like they did in SoV.

More gm events! I m not sure if this was a gm event, but on zeb, every1 was turned into otters in pok! It was so fun! Also I have alway wanted to kill myong mistmoore, but is now a gm event, and hasn't been on in a LONG TIME! I would really like more gmevents in noobie zones, like the one in Gfay! Ahh My Wish List. . . Where do I start. . .

Some Real Life (but EQ related) wishes:
1 A RL Illusion Dark Elf for the LAYDEEEZ. Man! Imagine meeting one of those purple honeys in a bar? Smiley: blush
2 A RL Rallic Pack when I go on vacation
3 There's a magic ability that would have saved me some awkward moments over the years: 'Sense Married Woman' Smiley: wink2

As for EQ Wish List:
1 An innate ability 'Poison Versus Beggar' - works like a DS: they beg - they Die! Smiley: grin
2 'Sense ***************** - A magical arrow hovers above the head of any 60+ toon recently acquired from e-bay Smiley: wink
3 '[b][i]Sense Galadriel
' - This would rock for the under-18's Smiley: wink. Allows a spotty teenage guy to detect when the sexy female-toon he's about to twink is actually a 58 year old bearded farm-hand from Wyoming. Smiley: jester

CAMPS SHOULD AND DO EXSIST. the single most annoying thing in the game is haveing your camp stolen by some twit with an attitude and what do SoE say 'there is no such thing as a camp' BOLLOX!

i also would like to pin my name to the quest banner please

as for GM avent SoE knows they are the most popular thing in the game thats why you have to pay extra for them, it sucks but thats life.

A dungeon that you go into as soon as you arrive that has signs in it telling you how to do basic functions. The popup hints are annoying and difficult to read when you're trying to run away from something. Yes, I know the first few levels death doesn't mean a loss of experience but it would be nice. Even better if there was some lore there explaining which mobs need to die and why. Without it, I feel as if my toon should just be named Laurie and be running around in Levi's and a sweater. Yes, I know I can read it out of game, but I'd like it better if I could sit next to a fire and listen to some NPC ingame tell me.

A wish that wouldn't benefit all newbies but just me would be ten or so people who played 24/7 and were always available to answer my questions, and tell me where to hunt. People who would look at my armor and laugh at it and tell me it was time to upgrade. They could all reroll newbie toons too so they could show me how to be effective in a group situation. I never said I wasn't a selfish greedy wench.

I've got a list a mile long, but here's some bullets. I know this is a long list, but I have a LOT more than this, but I've truncated...

Make settings persist on the server, so I don't have to redo everything when I log on a different computer.

Make it so you can see someone's alts if they choose. I want to do /who Aelorin and get back a line that says Tanolas (51 Bard) ** Aelorin Alt **. I have friends that play so many alts, and I want my friends to see I'm on even if I start a newbie dark elf to look around in their underground city.

Better targetting. Next target and previous target buttons would improve the game so much. They could also make it so "Target Nearest NPC" can consistently target the frigging mob that's standing RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU!!

An indicator to tell whether you are on a mobs agro list. Or a list of mobs that are pissed at you.

In game note system. I would love to have a simple text notepad to use in game.

In game messaging. If someone is offline, and you want to talk to them, you should be able to send them a short message akin to an email.

No distance limit for group xp. This is as annoying as he**. You are hunting in a group, and your puller is doing an AWESOME job pulling stuff from the far corners of the dungeon, and you lose xp because he was too far away during the kill.

When you begin casting on a mob, if the mob is in range and visible, then the spell should land. You cannot outrun a mob's casting range, so they shouldn't be able to outrun yours. Same with line of sight.

Make it so you can see groupmates mana bars.

If damage shields do more than half of the damage to a mob, then noone should get experience for the mob... perhaps the damage shield can go up a level =P.

Fix the recast time bug... this spell is not ready yet... BAH!

Something to help crowd control. There's about a million things they could do, with better targetting being among them. How about a list of mobs that are mezzed, or a visual indicator.

I wish they would take away the memblur from the mez spells and just give us a higher quality real memblur.

I want more spell gems!! Gimmee!!

I want to be able to remove augmentations and sell them back for like 60% of their point value.

You should be able to say /lfg on No BOT please. Then when someone says /who lfg it shoudl say:
(65 Coercer) Sinaerre [my guild] LFG *No BOT please

Let us see the number for mana... geesh.

You should be able to build an arbitrary bar that resembles a group bar. You should be able to add anyone you want to the bar. This is mainly for raids, and I HEAR that some cool new raid tools are coming out. It would be nice for the lead of the ch chain could see the mana of the healers along with the health of the mt, mt2, and mt3 in a convenient list.

More available buff slots!

Single target c5.

More and better quests - for each set of 10 levels...
More GM events - I've only seen one in my time (OK, so I'm not on 24/7 - I'd still like to run across a couple more...)

Lots of good ideas in this thread. I'll throw in a vote for a greater number of more involved quests.

Quote:

Amen to that. This is something I have wanted for a long time.

I second that as well. Perhaps something as simple as changing the color of the mob's name above their head to indicate they are mezzed. Better targetting would also help greatly.

I think it would be nice to have a bazaar "shopping list" function, in which one could put any items that one is looking for, and search them all simultaneously. That way, rather than typing individual item names in the search bar and viewing the results individually, one could search based on one or more customized "shopping lists" and view the results all at once. This would be a big timesaver for those that search the bazaar regularly for the same items such as tradeskill items, research pages/runes, etc.

Increase the number of traders allowed in the Bazaar. The current limit of 550, just does not cut it. On Druzzil Ro I've been locked out the past two nights. /sigh

Some great points here and most I would love to see in game. I have another one to add. Kind of a reverse trader in the Bazaar.

For example I want "Rare Item X" and will spend 300k on it. I can put a trader up in the Bazaar with 300k on him and have a tag that says I am buying Rare Item X for 300k. Someone who wants to sell me it can then come up to my trader and sell me the item automatically. They can also have a search window specifically for people buying rather than selling.

Also I think that it would be cool for each class to get or quest a special Illusion at Lvl 65. The illusion would be based on your class and be unique to it. To make it more fun they can make it also depend on the characters deity.

There sort of is. I have mine set to the ~ key (next to one) it cycles through your last 2 or 3 targets. Its under keyboard in the options menue. not sure which catigory though.

This also exists. Type /note in the chat bar. It clears when you log off though (I would like to see this made to stay)

Again. You can do this (sort of), but you have to buy a program from SOE called EQIM (EverQuest Instant Messanger)

Like Tarv said. . . you can do this. Instead of typing "/lfg on"
just type "/lfg" it will bring up an interface for LFG which has many cool features including a place to type in your own requests "such as No BOT please" you can also look at everyone in your level range that is LFG at the moment and their class, level, where they are, and their notes. there is also a group looking for players feature in this window where you can tell other people that your group needs players and specify what type of player you want for the group.

Rixtar! I love the reverse trader idea!! Gimmee, gimmee, gimmee!!! It would rock to just sit down and say, I'm buying silks for 2p each! Leather padding 18p each! Metallic Liquids 5500p!! Rixtar's Idea... Priceless!

I like the "toggle last two targets" feature. I have it set to the tab key. That doesn't really solve my issue, though. EQ needs to have a list of available targets, some next target / previous target keys, and a "Target Nearest Npc" that works reliably. I'm not asking for anything groundbreakingly new here. Almost every good game that deals with the notion of targetting has these features since Wing Commander, and that game's OLD. Plus, most of EQs competitors have this ability.

Here's a common scenario for the targetting problem. Puller pulls 3 mobs, all skeletons, which are a pain in the **** to click on anyhoo. When they are stacked, it's almost impossible to click on the individual targets. Since I can't target them in the first place, the toggle targets button doesn't work. I've gotten pretty good at it by now, and I even use different views to see if there is any way to separate them, but it's slow and clunky. I strafe around the mob glob using target nearest npc to see if I can get a target that way, and sometimes it works, but it's always slow and I just look silly running in circles. Usually, I get them targetted when they jump the cleric, but that is less than desirable. Whenever I do a hard adventure that we get two mobs pulled with the same model, there's about a 50% chance that someone's gonna die. Usually, everyone dies.

The note system needs to stay around after you log off. Having notes disappear when you log off is almost as annoying as having your petition disappear because you logged off after waiting for a GM for 3 hours.

I want to be able to type,
/eqmail Timaeus I have 62 dire wolf tufts if you need them. I'll be on again Saturday about noon PST.
OR
/eqmail Bronaa We're gonna try a hard adventure on Thursday night. We need a puller, if you're up to it. Meet in BB at 9pm PST.

Then when they log on, the league of Antonican bards can come up, smack them in the head, and give em the message. This would be SOOO valuable. EQIM isn't quite that useful to me.

I am aware of this, but most people don't open the screen. For the first two months after it was added, I'd put, "For the love of God, I'm really really sick of BOT. Please don't ask me to group there" Every 5 minutes thereafter, I'd get a tell along the lines of, "Come to BOT middle south group. You are replacing our chanter"

Admittedly, I never bring up the interface to look for group members... I always just type /who all cleric 63 65 lfg.

I've got a new one!! I wish you could see how manay aa's someone has in a /who. If I'm putting together a hard adventure group, I want certain aa's to be available. I currently have to ask ever ranger if they have EQ and AM3, but if I saw that they have 71 aa's, I wouldn't.

I kind of want to see numbers for mana that aren't percentages. I want to know how much certain items help, how much specialization helps, and I want to see when I have enough mana to cast c5 after a rez. As it is, I have to keep standing up, trying to cast, and sitting down...

Thanks for the comments. This is a wish list, and I realize I can get almost all of these things by just booting up another MMORPG, but I rather like everquest =).

where do I sign for QUEST? and the idea with quests tailored for every set of 10 levels is great! at the moment there's a WIDE gap after the newbie-weapon quest and the epic-class quest. most in between is just c..p

being visually oriented i would like to see NO MORE old merchant skins, better looking male skins for all races and more DIVERSITY. It CAN't be so hard to give each starting charakter a choice of basic colour of clothing! And more hair styles - why are there no long haired HalfE or short haired HighE????

and the inns....these are the most DEAD spots on Norrath-very realistic! SOE should put soulbinders in there, important quest NPC's, special merchants who sell exclusive goods, just SOMETHING to make these places come to live!

And the absolute TOP of my list: A 20 slot - bazaar in every starting town near the bank so that the levels 1-10 can have their share in what makes live on norrath both easier and funnier. this would work quite well as a high level char would never take one of the spots to offer 10k items to a stunned crowd of newbies *lol*. and all those (not-sellable-to-merchants) newbie quest items needed not be thrown away but could be traded which would make players interact from the start much stronger.

Mah Wish List,

1.) Get my rogue to 65, heck I'd settle for 60. Getting harder and to find a group anywhere I can get decent xp (POV, etc)When I get the chance to play I can only manage about 3 hours, spending 2 of them looking for a group really blows. Yah I know I can do LDON, but I get more xp in that last hour of play in POV then I do in the 3 hours of trying to find a group of LDON'ers that isn't fresh from ebay.

2.)Get one of my other characters up to above 46 (getting rogue burn-out)

3.) Last but not least, uber POP gear. Would like to complete my Stanos's Wicked Chainmail collection =).
