The Hidden CityFollow

#1 Jan 03 2004 at 3:58 PM Rating: Decent
Hey all-

I was glancing through my PoP manual while zoning one day, and I happen to read about the Gods. Did anyone else notice this bit of info. under Zebuxoruk:

There is said to be a hidden city on Norrath that honor-not worship- the 'Ungod' Zebuxork....blah blah. This city has tales of his history both true and fales, adn the community is mostly comprised of fallen priests, shadowknights, paladins, and any who have been forsaken by their deities and either seek a pathway back or seek truw neutrality. It is said that they believe that the deities are more mortal than they think.

I was wondering if anyone had tried to find the city, if it does exist, or what is there. I thought maybe the PoTime might be the place since it is totally hidden and requires much questing. However, it really isn't a city- Zebuxoruk is just there imprisoned.

I'm into secrets and hidden things, so this interests me greatly. Much like the ToFS's 8th floor which has not been found, and the "Lost Marble" people keep foraging in PoM.

Thank You! :)

About the hidden city, do you think it could be the Plane of Knowledge? It is a city with some history behind it that we players really don't know too much about. Shadowknights and Paladins live pretty much in harmony together there. And a few scholars from there have a few stories of Zeb.

Another question arises. Correct me if I am wrong, I have not done that much questing for Plane of Knowledge past some antique gear, but do we know who is the God of the Plane of Knowledge? It might be Zeb. The PoP manual also said that Zeb doesn't care about this city. Is PoK his plane than? If not, can a "Plane" truly exist without a central God or Demi-God? Or can it exist just with a very powerful leader?

If a plane needs a God to exist and Zeb has PoK, what of the Plane of Time? This plane has the a bunch of Gods in it, but they all have their own planes to attend to as well. Can a god run two planes at one time? Consider that a plane is a god's mental creation as well, would that creation fall into discord like in the Time of Troubles if the god were to turn their attention onto another mental creation? If a god can only rule one plane at a time, who is the true god of Time? Is it Zeb? Or does he rule the PoK? Is it the Nameless? The Nameless is simply the driving force of the universe and nothing more. Somebody enlighten me.

Bunch of questions..

Oh, one more thing: ???????????????????????????????????????????????????

The lost marble is probably the dev's trying to break their arm patting themselves on the back with PoM... and the "lost Marble" is from all the PC's trying to figure the place out.

Wow! A buncha questions. I think you kinda have something with that PoK thing. I never thought about that; perhaps PoK is the hidden city. You have some great points!!! I feel much more enlightened, thank you!

However, as a fan of the unknown, I'd like to think the city hasn't been found :). Maybe we'll never know :S

As to the marble, I was trying to figure out how to get to "Never-Never Land" and find the lost marble man "Tootles" from -Hook- lol. You have a rather good idea though, as EQ likes to tease its players *sigh*.

Well GL to ya'll and thanks for responding :)!

I'm guessing the Lost Marble is just a joke item. You know.. "lost your marbles"? Plane of Mischief? Yeah.. anyway..

I'm pretty sure New Taanan isn't Zeb's city, but I can't recall what it is that makes me think so. Either something in its history or something a Dev has said indictated that it's not the place. My guess would be that the city will be located on the new continent in the GoD expansion. Despite Zeb being mentioned in the pantheon descriptions and the fact that some people 'follow' him, I've never seen anything divine actually attributed to him and certainly nothing that'd indicate he has the divine wherewithal to create and control a plane of existance. Of course, that leaves the question of who does control PoK and my answer is "I dunno".

If I was to take a shot in the dark, I'd say the Plane of Time exists because of the Nameless, but the Nameless takes no active role there (or anywhere else). The gods, being gods, are able to travel freely there and I assume it's kind of neutral ground to them since each deity is out of their own sphere of control there, but no one is actually there running the show. Rather meeting in the Plane of Time is easier on them to get together and chat rather than Rodcet Nife having to trek through the hostile Plane of Hate to have a cup of tea with Innoruuk or whatever.

There is a god of Plane of Tranquility, yeah i know there is. h/o let me check.

Quellious- The Tranquil is god of Tranquility

From <a href http://eqlive.station.sony.com/library/deities.jsp>EQlive</a> halfway down

This peaceful child-goddess is allied with Rodcet Nife and Erollisi Marr, and an enemy to Rallos Zek and Innoruuk. Followers of Quellious the Tranquil seek peace. They are not strict pacifists, though, and will fight to defend themselves and their loved ones. The peace they seek is an inner one. They wish to know all there is to know about themselves and the world around them. They thirst for knowledge of their true selves and strive to help others attain enlightenment. It is through the sharing of this knowledge that they believe universal peace can be obtained. If every creature fully understood itself and its neighbors there would be no need for conflict and war. Followers of Quellious often follow a nomadic lifestyle, constantly seeking what there is to know and hoping to find themselves along the way.

Quellious is a goddess, not a god Smiley: wink

I think the question though was about Plane of Knowledge and Plane of Time, not Plane of Tranquility.

Wouldn't Quarm be the God of Time? Or is he just a guardian, like Cerberos?

Quarm is the combined form of the four major elemental gods if I'm not mistaken. He's not an actual god himself.

Don't ask me why the four elemental gods would combine to form something in the same shape as Veeshan, the Wurm Queen.. heh. I guess SOE just decided that dragons = cool.

Since we're asking questions about PoK I'd like to know why you can see the moon in the PoK. It may be in EQ lore somewhere but I usually don't take the time to read it.

Everyone has brought up some nice points....However, why would they put his hidden city in the new expansion GoD if it was mentioned in the PoP manual? Wouldn't that mean that it already exists?

All this Gods/Goddesses information becomes a tad confusing lol. But, with help from everyone I'm figuring it out :).

PoK is not the city (at least in my opinion) Calliv Gunmar (sp?) in nedira's(sp?) landing had his brain crammed with information from zeb. the grozmok stone has something to do with it. In god the reason they are going to the new continent is because calliv (who is zebs avatar if that is the right word) says he thinks zeb is there. I think the grozmok stone may be able to free zeb or something.
This is what i think. i read the lore, but none of this was in it (unless i missed something) so dont take this as law. This is simply what i took the lore to mean.

The lore on Zeb has always mentioned the lost city, even back prior to Kunark. Since Zeb is a major figure in the PoP expansion (you basically are trying to rescue him provided you're following the quest scripts) it stands to reason that they'd mention him in the manual, but New Tannan isn't the city.

"There is more to the Grozmok Stone prophecy, though. While the legend says that stone could bring power to the trolls, Zebuxoruk showed me it will do much more. That stone may very well change the face of Norrath. Just look around... we have trolls working with halflings and light elves working with dark ones."

(from the lore on the GoD site)

I agree with Seuadr the hidden city will be in the next expansion

That's because of the Gromzok stone? Hell, all this time I thought it was because EQ plays more like an FPS than it does an RPG.
