Go either to North Gusta or Giddeus and go farm blm/thf for a bit. You'll get a ton of honey and some beehive chips. Go synth the beehive chips into honey and you have even more.

Well... I have mixed feelings abotu this recipe... I guess it is cheap than most other recipes at this level, but it's not NEARLY as cheap as most people seem to think. The colored eggs I did from 64-68 were MUCH cheaper, and they use fire crystals. Anyway, here is the cost breakdown for my server:

Water crystal 300-400 each
Pear 130x2 = 260g per synth
Honey 600g each (honey HAS been as much as 10K as stack at times)
Selbina Milk = 62g

Thats abotu 1300g per synth on my server... to me, thats NOT cheap after doing synths liek stone cheese and colored egg, and considering it usually takes about 120 synths to get 4 levels at this lvl, that's about 150K to go from 68-72... Well, I guess I should be glad I"m not goldsmithing... But once again, not as cheap as people seem to think...

at 64 cooking + advance support (+4 levels) would it be safe to start synthing these for skillups? it would put me at 68 which is 4 below the cap itself. my thoughs are that if i keep the right supports up while cooking i can start at 64 and be safe till 72...

I would recommend synthing this for skill ups even if ur far below. Main reason is this synth is pretty cheap for it's lvl so even a crit fail won't hurt too much. Also it requires only few materials that even stack. Besides you can use them for solo/missions/enm/bcnm while some of the other food is either totally useless or just doesnt fit ur jobs .
I love this synth.

As the prices of fire crystals climb and climb on Bahamut - nearing 6k a stack even in the starting cities - I was thrilled to find a recipie for my skill level not requiring fire. Sure, there's sushi, but I'm still working on raw fish handling.

I started making these at something like 66.8 and without synth support I managed to pull off an average of only 3 fails per stack. The honey is kind of costly, but it isn't as bad of a loss as a busted fire crystal. I did, I want to say, 5 stacks and managed to get up to 69.5, so a 2.7 skill increase, which is alot more than I managed to pull from the other synths I've tried.

Caps for 72, so I'll do a few more stacks today in hopes of reaching that. My LS is on me to get raw fish handling and to level 90 so I can make their sushi and marron glace. *_*

So, if it's 3HP/3Sec. for five minutes, then...

60Sec./1Min. * 5Min. = 300 Sec.

3HP/3Sec. = 1HP/Sec.

1HP * 300 Sec. = 300 HP

...meaning it takes 72 skill levels of cooking to make an item that's still not as good as Regen! *sigh* Oh well, it's still good for solo leveling jobs pre-Valkurm ^_^;

*COUGH*

Regen restores 120 HP, but faster.

This au lait restores 300 HP at a slower rate.

2.5x as much HP restored, at 3/5ths the regen rate.

Mathematically 1.5x as good as regen...?

So its not as good as Regen... I use Au Laits for missions/events/BCNM's..... When MP is a issue, eating your own regen food is great.

Ex. for the last time i used it was CoP 2-5 BCNM VS. 3NM's we had 2PLD's kite 2NM's while the rest killed 1 at a time. The Regen + refresh drinks pretty much saved there A$$.. Even though it was Apple Au lait ( what i could make at the time ) and Yagudo drinks... It works.. But def. not for PT purposes when Regen isnt a prob.

I can confirm this, I had a 5 and a half minute fight with Ramuh, it ran out just after I left the protocrystal.
