Curiousity with SAM

Say, has any Samurai tried this with the AF piece that inhances rice ball effects? The description says mentions rolling rice into a ball, so I was curious if there was an additional effect for them.

It is sushi not riceballs MelisandraPandy. Hope that helped ya even though it is a month late in coming.

The listed recipe is wrong and I have begged people to send a correction. YEs this is sad, 96 cooking and I do not have raw fish handling. But it does not make sense, you processed the Salmon eggs into Salmon Roe, it is no longer raw.

Not sure, but i am gonna test this sushi using a phaser, its a hell of a lot cheeper than other sushi's (cept tuna, which for a bst is still a god send) sole sushi hit 100k, and for its benefits its not worth it, as a cook i was shocked to see that black sole has 100k as well...so how knows? might be a cheep alternative as i really only care about the acc...
Easy to make... hella profitable

one day i was xping in LoO on cats for a manaburn... they all gave me ALL their lightning crystals so i had about 4 stacks... i didnt wanna just sell them, i wanna make a long profitable run with them... so i turned to Ikra GunKan.
using 1 stack of lightning crystals i bought a stack of cheval salmon at fishing guild for 60 gil
(i am only posting the minimum, this does not include making HQs in the Stage 1)

Stage 1
costs are 720 gil
this makes 3 stacks of Salmon eggs

Stage 2
then dark crystal stacks x3 15k and 3 rock salt stacks 1.5k
Costs for this stage is 16.5k
this makes 9 stacks of Salmon roe
http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?fitem=9578

Now here's the expensive part (and most profitable)
Stage 3
now we must buy the neccessary to produce the product...
9 stacks earth crystals 9k
" " pamtam kelp 5.4k
" " Rice Vinegar 21.6k
" " Taru Rice 90k
" " distilled water 1.3k
costs for this stage is 127.3k

this makes 9 stacks of ikra gunkan
and at my server price (24k/stack)this makes 216k
but!!! here are the costs to make this - is144.52k

so profit is /drumroll !!! 71.48k

and remember that overall, i will have to complete making the 36 stacks of this sushi... (and i say!!! Not Bad for sushi)

/cheer
not too bad

if you ask me i think this is pretty good, it give some acc,hp and some dex im not saying this is beter than sushi but for lower lvls from 15ish-40ish i would use this its alot cheaper and its not bad for farmimg/soloing. i give it a 7/10 for usefulness and after 40 its more of a 3/10 cause you really should use sole sushi.
^^
hmm
# Oct 30 2005 at 12:29 PM Rating: Decent
well i dont see a use for it, alot of other sushi out there that are better

Yeah, the stats are weak compared to other sushi, but this stuff is dirt cheap to make compared to Sole, Bream, and Squid sushi. I burn through this stuff on my SAM and give a ton away to my LS because the cost is low and it does give some decent stat boosts, considering the low synth costs.

If you are making a Dynamis run or going to a EXP pty use the good stuff, but for farming, soloing, etc. this is a great, low cost alternative.

Raw Fish?
# Oct 16 2005 at 1:49 PM Rating: Decent
Does this require Raw Fish Handling like other sushi products? Other websites like FFRecipe say it is needed. Just need a confirmation either way ^^

Hmm, good question. Its a type of sushi, so I would bet you need it. I just made 2 stacks to try out but I already have Raw Fish Handling so I can't really test it and see. :( Description says "A Far Eastern dish made by shaping steamed rice into a ball, placing salmon roe on top, and wrapping the sides in tall seaweed." Depending upon this difficulty of obtaining Salmon Roe, this looks to have potential as a cheap alternative to Sushi.

Salmon Roe is extremely easy to get your hands on. It's made the same way Emperor Roe is. The difference is, Cheval Salmon are extremely easy to catch in E. Ronfaure in the Cheval river with a fly lure. You just use a lightning crystal on a salmon to get salmon eggs, then a dark crystal and salmon eggs + rock salt to get Salmon Roe. Very cheap to make compared to sushi, considering you don't need Ground Wasabi or an expensive fish.
