Once Lord now ....my pet monkey

Obvious question as far as the spell itself but has anyone tried charming and siccing him on the village.

If you have a druid and few others of caster class(either bard, cleric, or druid may be the best choices) harmony the village to minimize agro, and one of you can heal the Lord while the other(s) attacks you may be able to conceivably take out Kerra as long as the charm lasts and the caster-master doesn't draw the agro. Has anyone ever tried that?

You might need a few druids though to hamrony enough of a area before it wears off and there could be a agro cascade if they are close enough to turn nasty which they could be (though I've never seen that myself) but you could do that trick with either the Lord or his retainers/guards and sweep through Kerra with a relatively small party.

I wonder can we petition for a new bard instrument - Grinder Acordian
DANCE MONKEY DANCE!! BWAHAHAHAHA

(yea I know only true monkeys have tails, no tail means it's an ape)

Descided to roll through here and have some fun after an embarressing whipe last time I'd been here long ago.

Hit the shamman in the back of the gorilla hut - he started running in no time flat and before I knew it, I had about a dozen cats on me along with one of his gorillas - thought I was gonna have to FD for a minute, but the riposts where cooking off so often you'd of thought I had a damage sheild on.

Still, be careful if you don't have alot of AC, hitpoints and an escape option - even a dozen greens can be no joke when they're all casting like mad and double tapping you non-stop.

Gongo spawn
# Feb 26 2002 at 12:31 PM Rating: Excellent
While camping Hamed Grarr with a 40th Druid, and waiting for him to spawn, I decided to try for Lord Gongo, too. His PH was located in a little wooden-looking shack in the back right corner of the courtyard area, where the large pit is in the center. There were two kerran gorillas in front and a kerran gorilla shaman as his PH inside the open shack. I only attacked the shaman, pulled it out to where there were the least amount of healers, and killed it. Nothing else attacked, although any healers in-range would heal him.

I killed Lord Gongo 3 out of 6 spawns in 2 hours and he dropped the mask all three times. No legs. He seemed very intent on Rooting me. He cast a couple of Frost spells for about 50 points each, and a couple of Sickens and Tainted Breaths, but he never got close enough to smack me. After the sixth kill(3 Lord Gongos, 3 Placeholders), I gave up on the leggings and killed other kerran NPCs while waiting for Hamed.

Hope this helps.

Good luck.

#Anonymous, Posted: Sep 01 2001 at 12:25 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) heh, fungi tunic is not hardcore twink, and kds are by far not hardcore. some nice monk items that are very good for twinking are imbued fighter's staff, runed fighter's staff, and tranquil staff. stave of shielding is not all that bad either, but those 2h blunts are totally hardcore. fungi is okay, but not hardcore. it is common drop from mynocid spore king, i lost roll on two in 3 hours one night in seb while trying to get one for my twink. Hardcore twinking it like trak bps and venril legs, or crystal chitin, or matchless dragon armor, or anything else like that. knuckle dusters are only like 7k for a pair nowdays, and fungi 20-25kish, which is not much

I have a 31 ranger on Luclin server and I camped this guy for a looong time. Neither of the armor pieces are lore so you can collect a lot of em. I was apprehensive when I came there, I caould sit where he spawned and just run <with my own SoW> back to the bridge by zone, kill him without him even taking half a bub, then go back and wait for next spawn.
why dont you just lure im outta range?
# Jul 09 2001 at 3:07 AM Rating: Default
If you say that the apes dont aggro, then just why the hell dont you just get im away from the idiot apes!? the only reason he's kicking ur butt is because they keep healing him no? so just get away from the healers, and whack im dead, simple, fast and you get the leggings capice?
Tough Battle

I used my lvl 34 wiz and soloed this guy, barely! I invised and walk right over to the hut in the NW corner of the map, untouched. I saw 2 kerran gorillas and a kerrean shaman gorilla. I killed the shaman pretty quick, even with the unseen healers healing him (the other 2 gorillas did not add). I had about 50% mana left after.

15 minutes later up came Lord Gongo. I was FM and started by hitting him with my big nuke 306 pts, whack! He was on me like glue. I casted root and backed up a bit behind the northern most bulding, he got healed a bit. Whack another 306 pts. Root breaks, he comes after me, I root him and back further behind the building, not far enough he gets healed again. I nuke again 306pts whack. Root breaks, he again comes after me. at this time I have about 20mana left and he has about 20 health. By this time he is on me again, near the east corner of that building. I root again. Cast Harvest (wizzy get more mana spell). I am up to about 40 mana. Whack, I hit him again 306 dmg and he is on me again. 20ish mana left. I root him once more and whack him again for the final 306 pt nuke. I looted rune and the leggings I wanted for my warrior, then gated out. Fastest item I ever got off a spawn.

He didn't resist one of my nukes, but I was thinking about running after the first batch of heals that he received. I figured I could root him again if it looked too grim.

My suggestion: pull him as far east behind that building as ya can immidiatly so the healers get maybe one chance to help.
LOL OMG

This was the craziest thing I've ever tried to kill. Being that I was level 44 (druid) when I went to kill him, I figured I could take him down in a few nukes right? LOL NO! Ok, so I walk up to this guy, root him, snare him, root breaks so he moves near the wall behind the shack. Root him again, DOT him. Of course I resisted all his spells and thats what he spent most of his time doing, instead of beating me lifeless. Ok, so I nuke hime (302 dmg) and then all of a sudden I see....Lord Gongo feels better....Lord Gongo feels better...Lord Gongo feels better. OK so this guys got like 50 people healing him! I was like WTF! So anyways I keep nuking him and getting him close to dead, and then he's back up again. Once I got down to 20 mana I figured it was time to jet. Rooted him and ran to the zone. Jeez this guy is a pain!
Faction and to stay on thier good side when killing here

I've killed a few things here when I was exploring the zone. Lord gorgo, Jo-jo and a few of them damn tigers that jump you on the isle.
The best way to not be KOS for killing here is to do the rat killing quest in the down time you have while waiting for spawns, I went there as warmly and left there the same way.
Rogue and Druid
# May 04 2001 at 12:25 AM Rating: Decent
The best way to fight in Kerra isle is with a Rogue and a Druid. have the Druid camo his way to the spawn location if he is KOS. and the rogue do rogue invis. the druid should cast harmony, and the rogue do one quick backstab. then pull the sucker (with sow) to the zone where there are NO KERRANS. kill him there. if you are losing simply zone. This especially works on Karana, noone is ever in that zone.
Be careful

Many of the things in the zone will aggro on you even if they are WAY green. I went in with my Level 45 necromancer the other day figuring I could waltz by all the lower level mobs. I was unprepared for the assault of 6-12 greenies once I got back to the fire area. Actually had to Feign Death and flee with 20 percent of my hit points. They even killed my pet.

When I went back in prepared, things went much better. It's still very difficult to actually camp Lord Gongo though. I find myself returning to the front of the zone to med and heal between spawns.

He's also much rarer than the posts here would lead you to believe. I have been there a while. Killed at least 7-8 placeholders and got Lord Gongo to spawn once. Got the mask though, when I'm looking for the leggings.

I wandered over to Kerra Isle to find this ape and that was no problem at all. Just go to Kerra Isle and keep heading NW and you'll find him in a lil hut in the far NW corner with 2 other apes. No biggie, right? wrong.

I was camo'd (don't know that they'd have aggro'd on me anywayz) and went to the far rear of the hut RIGHT BEHIND GONGO. I attacked him from there and the other two apes didn't bat an eye as Lord Gongo turned to fight me. I thought that was a great thing, right? wrong.

Now, I'm a 25lvl ranger and I was doing fine taking him down until he was at about 1/4 HPs and healed himself. Not full heal, but enough to bring him back to 3/4 at least. So I kept at it, but that fear was in my mind that he was going to keep doing that and i had no wayz to stop him without some wayz to stun him. Right? right.
He eventually wore me down by healing himself, hitting me for 20-45/hit and generally just by outlasting me. If he didn't have that damn heal spell, i could have killed him 3 consecutive times with no heals/rest between but....

YAH, the Kerrans will attack you for attacking him.

Went to camp this guys sorry butt as a lvl 20 gnome necro...big mistake. Being a necro i was kos to the kerrans. It looked as though the gorrillas area was far enough away from the kerrans for me to go un invis, but i was wrong. The second that i went uninvis half of the zone was curb stomping my a$$. If you are kos there dont even bother trying to camp this guy unless there are a LOT of people in the zone, unfortunately 90% of the time there is no one on kerra isle on karana server

Does killing the apes result in bad faction with the Kerrans? Will they help the gorillas if they are attacked?

Gorgo hit hard
# Apr 21 2000 at 2:38 PM Rating: Decent
Gorgo can really lay the smack on you, hits extremely hard and fast. He will also heal himself in no time, so the bandage and re-attack tactic will result in attacking a fully healed Gorgo.
I was 27th level that tried to solo this ape by melee only, big mistake.
