The Battle of Windurst

After the slaughter of the Knights of San d’Oria at Garlaige Citadel, the Tarutaru and Mithra of Windurst found themselves alone against thousands upon thousands of bloodthirsty beastmen.

The Shadow Lord feared the powerful mages of Windurst, but he knew they could be crushed if forced into hand-to-hand combat. With Windurst completely isolated from its allies, the Shadow Lord launched a massive assault with a single, deadly purpose -- the annihilation of the Tarutaru and Mithra races.

The Windurstian army of 1,000 warlocks, Mithran hunters and cardians stood firm as a force of 30,000 beastmen attacked at Odin‘s Gate. The beastmen, led by the Yagudo warlord Tzee Xicu the Manifest, were easy targets for the Tarutaru mages and their powerful black magic spells. However, Tzee Xicu the Manifest planned for this, and he fitted his soldiers with enchanted, magic-resistant armor. The Windurstian army crumbled as the mass of beastmen charged forward, overwhelming their ranks. The battle spilled into the city. Amid the devastation, the city‘s protective walls collapsed, flooding the lower levels of Windurst Walls.

The remains of the once-formidable Windurstian army gathered at Heavens Tower for one final stand.

Suddenly, a brilliant light appeared to the east. The terrestrial avatar Fenrir seemed to leap down from the heavens, accompanied by Karaha-Baruha, the isolated minister of the Optistery. Fenrir tore through the invading army, killing scores of enemies with each strike. With the mighty avatar still chasing them, the terrified beastmen ran for their lives. Then, as quickly as they’d appeared, Karaha-Baruha and Fenrir vanished without a trace.

Windurst lay in ruin, but its people were safe.
