There is a ring of four Pheromone Secretors. Around each Secretor is 2-3 Chrysalises. Disturbing any egg in a bunch, or the Secretor, hatches at least one Chrysalis and starts a very short egg timer on the others, which hatches skitterlings and warriors.

Best approach is to move around to get a clear shot on one cluster, then destroy them, then collect the samples. This hatches the minimal number of hellbugs.
