Membership Information  

Most changes to your account can be done in the "Membership Information" section. Once you've logged in to PlayOnline, click on "Service & Support". In the "Service & Support" menu, click on "Membership". You will then be asked to confirm your membership by logging in again with your PlayOnline ID and password. You will then be able to make changes to your account.

Confirm Service History

The service history is a log of each of your PlayOnline, Final Fantasy XI, Tetramaster, Mail Forwarding, Character Name Addresses, and Mail Filter transactions. You will be able to view transactions such as Content ID purchases and expansion registrations.

Update Member Information

This menu option will allow you to change your address, phone number, and e-mail address.

Update PlayOnline Password

In order to change your PlayOnline password, you will need to know your current password. If you cannot remember your password, you can call PlayOnline for a password reset.

Change Mail Address

This menu option allows a user to change his/her @pol.com e-mail address. On this screen you are asked to type in three choices in which you would like to have your pol.com email address changed. Once you have typed in the three different e-mail names, click next. The next screen will confirm your address change. If any of your choices are already taken, it will move on to the next choice. You will then be asked to confirm the first available choice. If you are sure you want to change your address, click "Update". You will then be directed to the "Address Change Complete" screen, which shows that all the changes have been completed.

Update Mail Password

In order to change your PlayOnline Mail password, you will need to know your current mail password. Once you have typed in your old password and the new password twice, click "Next". Confirm that you want to change your password, then click "Update" to implement the change. The next screen will ask if you want to save your password. If you wish to do so, click the box next to "PlayOnline Mail Password" to save your password. When finished, click "Done".

About Content IDs

Content IDs are accounts within PlayOnline that are required in order to use game contents and certain PlayOnline services.

Obtaining Content IDs - To obtain a Content ID, select "Obtain ID" from the Contend ID menu and follow the on-screen instructions. You will need your PlayOnline ID and password, as well as the registration code for the relevant contents/service.

Canceling Content IDs - To discontinue use of game contents and certain Play Online services, you will need to cancel the Content ID(s) for that game/service. To cancel a Content ID, select "Cancel ID" from the Content ID menu and follow the on-screen instructions. Content ID data will be retained for three months following cancelation, if it is not deleted by the user. These "inactive" Content IDs can be reactivated with the original data intact. Even after this period, if your data has yet to be deleted, reactivation may still be possible.

Reactivating Content IDs - Reactivating a Content ID allows you to resume a game or service using the data contained in said Content ID. To reactivate a Content ID, select "Reactivate ID" from the Content ID menu and follow the on-screen instructions.

Confirming Content IDs - You can review your currently active and inactive Content IDs by selecting "Review ID" from the Content ID menu. To review your payment method, go to "Payment Method" in the "Membership" section of "Service & Support."

About Expanded Services

Expanded services refers to additional game contents that can be made available by purchasing products (expansion discs, etc.) that contain the relevant data. Expanded Services are currently available for Final Fantasy XI.

Registering Expanded Services - To register for Expanded Services, you will need an Expanded Services registration code, as well as your PlayOnline ID and password. One Expanded Services registration code is good for one PlayOnline ID only. These codes can be found on the last page of the product's owner's manual. Even if contents have been installed onto your system, you must complete the registration process in order to use Expanded Services.

Canceling Expanded Services - In general, Expanded Services cannot be canceled once registered. If a Content ID is obtained or reactivated on a PlayOnline ID that is registered for Expanded Services, the ID will be registered for said Expanded Services at default. Therefore, no additional registration process is required.

Obtain Content ID

This section allows you to purchase Content IDs. Once you have clicked on this portion of the menu, a screen will open called "Content Selection". Select the content in which you wish to buy a Content ID. If this is your first time doing this, click Final Fantasy XI. You may also buy content IDs for Tetra Master.

Your first content ID is 12.95 USD per month. This is the monthly fee required to play the game. You will not be charged anything more than the 12.95 unless you purchase more Content IDs. Any Content IDs purchased after the first one will cost 1.00 USD per month per ID. The screen will display the price of the content ID. Click "Next" and you will be directed to the "User Agreement" page, where if you accept you will click "Accept", and if you decide not to buy the ID, you would need to click "Decline".

Cancel Content ID

This section allows you to cancel a Content ID. When you cancel a content ID in the middle of the month, it will stay active until the billing cycle is over. The "Content Selection" screen will open, requiring your to select the content you wish to delete the ID from. A page will display called "Regarding the cancellation of Content IDs". Once you have read it, click "Next". You may also put a check in the box at the bottom that says "Do not show again". After clicking "Next" the cancellation page will display. Put a check in the box to the left of the ID you would like to cancel and click "Next". Once you have done that, your ID will be canceled.

If you have not gone through the character deletion process in Final Fantasy XI, this action will not delete your character. Should you choose to reactivate your content ID, your character may still be intact.

Reactivate Content ID

This section is for reactivating content IDs that you have canceled. Select the content for which you are reactivating the Content ID, then click "Next". Check off the Content ID(s) you wish to reactivate. Once you have selected the ID(s) you want to reactivate, click "Next". If you are sure you want to reactivate this ID, click "Reactivate" on the next screen. Once this is done, you have reactivated your Content ID.

Expanded Services Registration

This is the section where you register your expansion packs. Select the content in which you are expanding services. Final Fantasy XI will likely be your only option. Press "Next". You will then be asked which expansion packs you would like to register. Click the circle to the left of the name to select it. You can also click the "Confirm Status" button to find out which expansion packs are already registered. Once you have selected your expansion, click "Next". You will now have the ability to progress through the expansion pack in game.

Purchase Optional Services -This section allows you to purchase "other" services, in which there is no need to purchase for normal game play. As of now, you may only purchase two optional services. You may purchase a World Transfer or a Registration Code.

Purchasing a World transfer costs 25.00 USD. This allows you to transfer all your characters on one account from one FFXI world(server) to another FFXI world(server). If this is the service you want, click the box to the left of it, and click "Next". The screen will then show "A note regarding world transfers. Once finished reading, check the box at the bottom and click "Next". Follow the steps to finish your world transfer.

Registration code purchases are a way to purchase a Registration code for an expansion already installed on your machine. Rise of the Zilart is 9.99 USD. Chains of Promathia is 9.99 USD. Treasures of Aht Urhgan is 14.99. You can purchase these by clicking the circle to the left and then click "Next".

Confirm Membership Status This section gives you the ability to review active and inactive content ID's. The first menu is where you decide if you would like to review active or inactive content ID's. Once you have decided which you would like to review, use your cursor to make your selection. Next choose the content you want to review. Once you've made that selection, use your cursor to select Display. The screen will then Display the information your requested.

Payment Method

Update Payment Method This section is used to update your payment method. If you get a new credit card, or need to change credit cards, this is where you would go to do so.

Review Service Fees You may review all service fees in this section. Any time your credit card is billed, it is added here, and you may check it by clicking on the "View Service Details" button next to the month in question.

Options

Reward Code Registration Reward codes can be obtained through purchasing merchandise or through and out of game event. In this section, you may use your reward code to accept your reward. Once you have a reward code, go to this section. Read the terms and conditions, and click the box at the bottom of the page if you agree to them. Then click next. Enter your reward code, and click submit.

Login Verification This section asks you whether you want to put your log on information in every time you want to access your account information. You may choose yes or no.
