General Information

    • Respawn time on the ??? is three minutes after Wulgaru has been defeated or despawns.

  • Resistant to most enfeebling magic (Bind, Gravity, etc). Susceptble to Stun, but builds a resistance over time.

  • Weak to Water based magic damage, but highly resistant to physical and magical damage aimed towards Wulgaru's larger arm.

  • When Wulgaru's HP drops to roughly 75%, it will perform a TP moved called Detonating Grip, which results in the destruction of its larger arm and the removal of its directional-based damage resistance.

    • Rarely, once its HP drops to around 60%, Wulgaru's upper body will disappear, leaving just its lower torso and legs. In this state, Wulgaru will not perform any melee or TP attacks, and will wildly run around the room that it was spawned in. Ignores any hate generated upon it.

Wulgaru's Special Attacks

  • Dire Straight - Single target physical damage. Ignores Blink and Utsusemi.

    • Wulgaru will only perform this TP move while it has its large arm.

  • Detonating Grip - AoE physical damage (Circle of effect originates from mob).

    • Detonating Grip results in the destruction of Wulgaru's large arm.

  • Sinker Drill - Single target physical damage.

    • Wulgaru will only start performing this TP move after it has lost its large arm.

Managed to get in a group to try and get the head piece. It's definitely an odd fight... The first time around, he was down to legs at 50%. He was crazy at the start though - The tank was in orange constantly. Full drops... I was the lowest of the three lots. -_-

Someone else had a trigger, we spawned, we fought. This time, it lost an arm around 80%, and didn't lose anything else the entire fight. So, a bit tougher.
Only crystals and the trigger item dropped.

{/sigh}

SLOW RUNNER!

This guy runs SOOOO slow! I was getting Nyzule Isle staging point and saw these ppl attacking a giant ******* robot so I watched. They wiped, so I helped with raise and they RAN back at him! 3 level 70+s: BLU, BLM, SMN. I asked if they needed help and they said yes and that they have been fighting him for 2 hours.

I switch to my 74SMN/37whm which I had just hit level 74 today with, and came in. he is a SUPER slow runner. We were running ALL over the map kiting this guy! Oh man it was so much fun! Throw a DiaII on him and let your pets attack it while you kite him (he's that slow!!!) Anyway. I didn't see the beginning of the fight. I was there for the last 15-20 minutes. I loved it and want to do it again. Not for the drops, but just to fight him again. Minor exp: 200~, but I got 3k gil! LOL!

win

Did this with a full alliance and straight tanked it. His big fist attack goes through shadows but is slow so easily cured after words. Pretty easy fight in all. Seems weak to water magic.
Is this guy seriously a Tier II?

Fought this guy twice last night. Killed him both times with little difficulty. Just kite him (we had a pld) and have a mage (we had whm) cure the pld. Rest of pt (SAM, SAM, MNK, WAR, BLU) just beat on him much like the Kirin fight. His move, Dire Straights (?) does go through shadows, so not sure if a nin tank would work. Plus you need for tank to keep hate while kiting.

We had 7 and could have done it with 6 easy, probably less. First fight, we all took a little damage from one Dire Straights. Second fight, I think only the pld was hurt the entire fight. This guy has a lot of resistance to dmg until his first arm falls off at about 75%. At 25%, his whole upper body fell off and he's just two legs running around. He has no attacks whatsoever in 'leg mode.' Second fight, he went into leg mode at about 50%. Needless to say, it was an easy win. No drop on the shield or Hissho Hachimaki. Our thf had to turn WHM for this fight since our other mages went to bed.
