  • Vulpangue will absorb damage from magic spells of the same element as the current day of the week (It will absorb the damage from fire based spells if it is Firesday).

  • As its hp drops, the potency of its physical and tp based attacks will increase greatly.

  • All physical attacks performed by Vulpangue can inflict an additional Weight effect.

Vulpangue Special Attacks

  • Wind Shear: AoE physical damage with an additional Knockback effect.

  • Crosswind: Frontal cone AoE Wind based magic damage with an additional Knockback effect.

  • White Wind: AoE HP recovery effect.

  • Zephyr Mantle: Self target Blink effect. (Produces four shadows)

  • Obfuscate: AoE Flash effect.

Historical Information

In Chilean mythology, the Vulpangue was said to be a serpent with the head of a fox that dwelled in waters near shorelines, attacking anyone that ventured near it.

Just did this tonight. Great fight. took 5 smn/nin and one brd/nin. At first we thought it was going to be a complete wipe, but thankfully we were able to kick the living junk out of this monster. Fighting it right at the ??? it took about 6 minutes - everyone had Garuda up on spawn so hate wasn't generated too fast. Mp was never an issue - one smn released garuda to elemental syphon. Bard got hate for a bit and had to tank a little, but no deaths. Sadly there wasn't a hachigane dropped but hopefully next time :)

i recently done this as a 72 bst also had a lvl 71 bst 75 bst and a 70 smn.. not the best thing to try with :P took 4 hours 7,000 xp later we finaly killed it lol and all we got was the wing and a delvld bst 71 >> 70 lol, we had to charm and release pets as we ran all over the map kiteing him from one end to the other we had one almost full wipe ( i was only one with Reraise on lvl 72 bst) so i had to kite him for 4 min while everyone else Homepointed cause we all had to have ninja sub to avoid his wind attack which was cutting our pets down to really fast. >.<;

We killed him with only 8 people by pulling him to the zone that he is right next to. Very easy to nuke/zone and have a few blink tanks just keep him claimed.

Fought this guy 5 times today. We took 12-15 people throughout the 5 fights. He will be healed if wind magic or magic of the day of the day is cast on him.

His Conal knock back attack does a HUGE amount of damage. It sucks up between 2 and 3 shadows and grants gravity. He is really physically weak and is weak to maigc also. He does all the standard moves of PUK and he does one move where he can heal him self, but its not much.

After the first two fights where msot of us where getting killed just zerging it down we changed strats. We had all melee build tp before the fight. Once that was done we popped the mob and had everyone unload their WS on it. Once that was done we had everyone but the tank party and anyone with shadows melee on it. This prevents spam of his conal attack. We also had 3 stunners to which helped a bit.

Cor's Monk roll helped a ton with subtle blow on this. A party of 6 could fight this I believe. We used 2 pld/nin tanks for it but a normal non shouldnt have to much problem with it. The goal is to just not feed so much tp it spams.

I beleive we got the SMN head gear 3/5 and the sword 1/5.
