The Commuity Manager for the Lord of the Rings Online - Patience - has posted a reminder about the impending wipe of the official forums. As part of the process of moving towards open beta, both the beta and public forums will be closed down and a new official one will be introduced. The details are provided below:

I just wanted to remind you guys that we're bringing these, the live forums, down later this afternoon. At that time all accounts and posts WILL BE WIPED. The set of forums which is currently the beta forums will become the live forums. You must have a Closed Beta, Open Beta, or Pre-order account to have full access to those forums.

If there are any posts you want to save from these forums, do so now, because they will be gone forever after this afternoon!

The new, permanent URL for the official LOTRO forums is now http://forums.lotro.com, so you'll need to update bookmarks! lotro.turbine.com/forums will continue to work until we bring these forums down later today.

Thanks to everyone for their understanding during the transition. This is a HUGE step as we prepare for Open Beta and then launch!
