LMAO that is too funny, too bad I haven't been able to get on to see it. >.<

I agree that this is just a cover up to fixed the bigger issues! I know it's not my ISP becuase I have 2 other friends on the same ISP one has no problems what so ever and the other can only play on his mule, his mane character just keeps R0'ing over and over again, while me and my B/F can't even log in we get the 3113 error message.
Same problems?

I do not know about you all but I was unable to zone into several zones since Friday. My mule was in Bastok Markets, came home he was at a blue screen connection loss, so I restarted the PC game and everytime he logged in, Rx 0 and the entire zone was empty. I ran to MH and I could zone. I figured out that I could run from MH to S. Gustaberg zone and then move my mule to Mines but this was riduculous. I then got my other character going on my PS2 and he couldnt enter B. Markets either. I sent 2 GM message to check my character out if it was bugged or flawed somehow. ISP error call them. ISP had connection issues alright - in February not March. So I tell SE - this does seems to affect either platform and why is this causing me to be kicked when I zone to several zones?

I got the sensation I was banned from entering the main zones of cities. I hate to see if I warped back to Whitegate with the lag from hell there. I missed several events this weekend due to this so called 'GILS' to 'GIL' fix.

Only certains zones give you Rx0. I have determined Bastok Markets, Windurst Walls, Konschtat Highlands, Korrokola Tunnel are bad zones for me. I teleported around as WHM. Got tired when I hit the Windurst Wall of Rx0. So I am guess there are at least several others. You can get out of that zone by just running for dear life to another zone or MH then exit to another zone each time you get the chance. For some reason your character is transmitting but not receiving the response from the server.

ISP? Maybe if the FFXI server is spamming back packets thus the ISP routers then shutdown or throttle back the port(s) the packets are coming into, this is kinda reminds me of DoS attacking. Could be that SE servers somehow generate too many packets and systems view this as DoS attack.

This actually just happened to my friend last night. We are both on PS2, and we were both in my room using the same exact ISP.

He would R0 and disconnect on any of his three characters the moment he logged on. If he sent tells, people actually got them but they couldn't send them back.
Oddly enough, /shutdown still worked. It normally wouldn't work if it was a true R0 because you wouldn't be able to rest.

So my character had no problems whatsoever, only his did.

So what did we do? We did a guest log on to my PS2, and same thing, R0 the moment we log on.

I log into my account again, and log on. I don't R0 and disconnect.

So my thoughts:

-it is NOT our ISPs like they claim it (since they claim it is our ISPs)
-it is NOT an issue where you have to reinstall (since they also claim this)
-it has to be on their end (since there seem to be a lot of fun errors after every update.)

Glad they fixed the Aura Steal issue. We were doing a small farming Dyna-Beau run last night and over half our people got wiped out on two separate occasions because thf's used this move. The second thf it happened to, actually lost his macros he made.

The only thing I lost was my horn-to-harp change I had made that night, but easy enough to fix.

If you buged the GM's enough they let on that they would be fixing the problem shortly.
1st msg said it's your ISP,
2nd gm msg said please stop bugging GM's they cant fix it but we know of the problem and will be working to fix it...
Guess this is the fix

Thank God that hellish era is over.......... not the R0 era, the gils era.

Ick I could barely stand reading that at the AH.
Well THAT's a relief.

I was afraid that the plural of gil had officially been changed to "gils." Good to know that's not the case...It might have been enough to get me to stop playing FFXI. :P

I am honestly tickled to death that the word gils is gone. I had started keeping my eyes closed after placing a bid so I wouldn't have to look at it

exactly, lol. there not going to admit they screwed up! they blamed the ISPs, and pretended they had nothing to do with it... every ISP just coincedentally messed up all at once.

/sigh i cant believe they even tried to blame the ISPs, when the problem was not only among all different ISPs, but different countries, (and continent) as well...
HA!
