Doll Festival Extraordinaire!

Doll Festival

From PlayOnline.com:
Has it been a year already? It seems like only yesterday when adventurers were last dining on gourmet rice cakes and posing for glamour shots all across the cities of Vana'diel. That's right, the Doll Festival is here again, and the moogles down at the MHMU headquarters have been burning the midnight oil preparing a fresh new batch of sweet rice goodness for all the good little boys and girls. And for those of you who need a little more stimulation than gluten and natural coloring has to offer, we are also planning a doll festival/spring-themed fan art contest, to be held right here within the Topics.

*Poppin' fresh rice cakes are scheduled to arrive in the delivery boxes of every adventurer on Monday, February 19, 2007.
*Entries for the fan art contest will be accepted starting Friday, February 23. For information on how to participate, be sure to check the Topics on that day.

Sounds to me as if they were just too lazy to have an event and said "oh heck, here's the stuff... go away"

I've got to find more people willing to dress up as mithra kittens, hume's girls, and elvaan's... then pimp them out in Jueno and see how long it takes this time for a GM to send a tell.

It's fun to tweak with people's brains, every once in a while.

I think I remember this event from last year!! I love it but it is kind of silly. In a ****star**** based rating, I give it a 3 out of 5. It's not bad and it's not good. It's just silly :)

Silly in a good way.

So by these standards, should Christmas only come once in a lifetime? :P

You have a point. But at least every Christmas you get a different gift.
it is old because it is based on real life.

you do realize that this event is based of the japanese holiday "girl's day". you should be glad that they have both events based of japanese tradition and US tradition (yes, halloween as you celebrate it is an invented holiday based off a number of different cultures holidays).

I just wish they would do one based off a european tradition.

Well halloween is tridionaly european.
As halloween is the pagen new year eve.
And pagen is an ancent europen hoilday, before all this crist, jaews etc...
I don't know if its the oldest relgion (I doubt it), but it is older than crist.

Anyway Halloween is tridionaly European.

Hinduism is by far the oldest religion, with no date to it's beginning.

Yet another fresh new event.

Oh wait, it seems like yesterday that the doll event was here. That's because it was. Just like every other event. Nothing new. Just recycled ideas.

Bleh.

Oh yay, this year they were original enough to decided to send us the item instead of having us do the same quest we've done for the past 3 years.

Cant wait!
