Empire's Most Wanted(07/14/2006)

The Empire has released a list of some of the more prominent villains among the beastmen.

Even among the beastmen, the creatures listed below are especially notorious for their crimes against the Empire. All competent mercenaries and adventurers are encouraged to aid in their elimination.

Percipient Zoraal Ja

A general belonging to the Mamool Ja warrior class, Zoraal Ja has a reputation for inspiring courage in his soldiers and is acknowledged by the Imperial Army as a fearsome combatant. However, his recent failures to overcome the defenses of Al Zahbi have resulted in Zoraal Ja's temporary removal from a position of authority. The Empire wishes to ensure his defeat before he is allowed to return to the ranks of the savages.

An investigation by the Immortals has revealed Zoraal Ja's ability to manipulate a large colibri that can imitate his voice. Be on the lookout for trickery.

Lamia No.19

Marked by a tag buried within her body, this creature is known to be the nineteenth experiment in a series of original chimera creations. Leading a strike force of undead minions, Lamia No.19 has been threatening Imperial Army supply routes along the coast of the Arrapago Reef with frequent hit-and-run attacks.

Eyewitnesses claim to have seen her appear after large-scale battles, and stop to tap each corpse with her staff--information that may prove useful in locating this elusive adversary.

The Gar Brothers

Garharlor, Garfurlar, and Garhorlur are three Troll siblings infamous for their many surprise attacks on Immortals and Imperial troops alike. Even among the warlike Troll race, the Gar clan is famous for producing berserk warriors who lose the ability to distinguish from friend and foe when the madness of battle descends upon them. Perhaps due to some recent incident, the Gar Brothers have not been included in the last few attacks on Al Zahbi.

Zoraal Ja's Pkuucha [Found It]

I was soloing the Lesser Colibri and he popped in wajaom woodlands at J9 (SouthWest corner) with the 5 Lesser Colibri im guessing as Place Holders. I tried soloing him as <PLD75/WAR37> with my DD gear on, got him down to 50% life and wiped. So I thought it would be easy duoing him with rdm with my def gear. We got him down to 25% life and then he spawns a pet that is really his master Percipent Zoraal Ja. Both mobs instantly were put back to 100% life and it was to much for a PLD and RDM to take. We could have taken him with another brd for slow kill, but wondering if he would spawn a 3rd NM or not, we dont know. Let us know if you guys take him out. Good Luck.

reading that review SE looks like they are full of sh*t again. No comment on RMT other than its a issue, SE must make a percentage of that profit or they would not be in business anymore. As to the interview, they had no comment on anything for the new jobs other than wait and see, come on SE we are not 8 and believe in Santa anymorez fix this crap.

Astral Candescence Retrieval

I know for a fact that No.19 and Zooral Ja are one of the guardians for the Astral Candescence. Gar brothers are probably the Trolls AC guardians. The only time I've seen them is when one of the beastmen armies get ahold of the AC and they stand as a last line of defense to keep the AC from being retrived.

I can also confirm this. The lamias are existing mobs in the game, so odds are all this will do is put them in Besieged. I went in to Arrapago Reef when the Astral Candesence got captured, and after getting into the final room, Lamia No. 11, 19, and 24 were guarding the Astral Candesence. I chainspelled the main one (No.19) but they quickly killed me. lol.

Zoraal Ja and the Troll brothers aren't in the ffxi.cannotlinkto database, but they probably guard the Astral Candesence too. *shrug*

Blank page.

But still.

And I think Percipient Zoraal Ja will be one of the Mamool Ja in the picture shown on the official SE site for when they told us they were adding more strategy to Besieged.

I don't believe any of these will appear in besieged, for if you actually READ THE DESCRIPTIONS, they don't seem to appear in battle.

Zoraal Ja:
However, his recent failures to overcome the defenses of Al Zahbi have resulted in Zoraal Ja's TEMPORARY REMOVAL OF AUTHORITY

Lamia No.19:

The Gar bros.:

Actually, I believe that these NM's are going to be added in the three beastman strongholds in order to encourage people to invade the enemy bases - once the pop conditions are met for these NM's (perhaps 24 hours after a nation's last Beseiged, the lottery pop window opens on these NM's) they have to be killed before that stronghold reaches 100 troops, or that beastman leader will appear in their next Beseiged in a significantly stronger form.

The information about not being seen in the previous Beseigements is probably just to explain why we haven't seen them before.

The descriptions indicate that Zoraal-Ja will be a BST, and that the colibri pet can give out random orders to the army even if Zoraal-Ja is defeated.

Lamia #19 probably likes to charmga, stripga, or summon-a-load-of-undead-sorta-like-Vrtra...ga. Can't figure anything out what from the description they give us.

The trolls probably suffer from full time confuse status. Which could be benefitial during a troll Beseiged, since trolls seem to spam that stoneskin TP move; but I do not look forward to fighting these as a THF.

They are probably using those as excuses for NOT having them in the besieges already, but they hint that their hiding is ending.

These may be clues to popping/finding the NMs. Perhaps for the first, you have to kill Colibris. Are there larger versions? The second seems much the same, except any humanoid mobs, possibly in Caedarva Mire/Arrapago Reef. The third might just be lottery pops in Mt. Zhaolym (sp), but might appear when using charmed mobs to attack Trolls (BST/BRD abilities).

>.> Adding NMs .... yeah its hard enough as is not to mention without a high enough number o people we still lose normal battles. Say they do actually add these losers of the beastmen lands into besieged, we become losers and they become winners. 1) anyone less than say 70 could get one shoted if they've got AoEs, 2) how will the claiming work? I mean anyone even people that aren't in a party can hit mobs that r claimed by alliances/parties in besieged, 3) what will they drop? and/or will it be extra IS and exp or what?
The only way I see NMs in besieged working is if everyone gets some kind a benifit from the NMs defeat that assists in its death.

How do your server's actually "lose" besieged? On Caitsith, undefeated still 138-0, we took on a level 5 undead with 250 in al zahbi. Granted it took more than 1hr 15min, 8 hostages were taken, and all but one general got plowed... we still won. Maybe we're a special server that enjoys obscene lag and disconnections? Actually, and this is my transition to the NM's, at times besieged comes off a little easy. Adding powerful NM's into the army mix will bring in some of that nervous anticipation which regular besieged events are starting to lose. Y'all remember, if you've done it yet, how you felt before you fought Maat. These NM's, i hope, will make it all the more fun. Oh, we should get a little bonus if you're in on the NM kill above the 700

They did never actualy come out and say that these mobs are going to be involved in Besiged. Its entirely possible that they are adding these to the normal areas. Maybe as a way to relieve some of the pressure of the 3 kings. There has been alot of discussion already and this info has only been out for a day.

My thoughts are that, these are going to be HNMs located in the beastmen areas. They way the give somewhat vauge ideas of where the NMs can be found is a clue that they may not be part of besieged.

Another possibility is that they will be part of beiseged but will be able to be found outside of besieged as well. SE has mentioned that it will be benificial to invade the enemy bases. This may be one of the benifits. And they could be really sneaky and make it that if no one invades the base and defeats the NM before besieged, than they join in.

The possibilites are quite endless and im excited to see what they choose to do with these NMs.

So if people are starting to lose interest as it is, and are losing more often WITHOUT these NM's, how are we expected to win against them overtime?
I think what they Mean is.

These mobs must be found in the fields and Killed between assaults. Otherwise they will be in the assault and really ***** you up. Also they made it sound as the mobs can do certain things.

Zoraal Ja has a reputation for inspiring courage in his soldiers
Making existing mobs very tough, Possibly.

Raise Fallen Alzhabi Guards as undead (formorish creatures)
Quote:

Spawn more mobs in the battle.

These are just possibilities that I see. SE did talk about making attacking the homelands of the beastmen necessary for survival. This may be their initiation of that plan.

I think se needs to do a bit more than this to entice more people to participate in besieged. One max xp and IS pts u get is 700 for what maybe a hour of fighting, curing, raising people if battle last that long. I usually dont go there unless im about to sign off for the night, cuase i can think of better ways of getting xp and IS pts in 1 hour time.... hence PARTIES. Take the cap off for that and adjust it so what you do during ur time in besiege dictates how much you get.
Other thing is fix the POL error thing that gets people booted offline and when relog... they are foced to goto whitegate due to the max amount in al zahib is at the cap. The cap is an ok idea to help reduce lag.... but its still there....

1st post so rate up or down, dont care.... just voicing my opinion

Hmmm... Interesting. Besieged is already hard enough as it is. Seems like any less than 300 players that there's a good chance at losing. At least the IS reward is good enough for high level players so they can get their Walahara Turban.

And didn't SE want to make it more strategic, and less "go in and beat stuff to death"? Because when you now have 3 Troll NM's enter the frey, it seems like there will be more, "OMG I got one shotted by Garfurlar".

Oh well, guess we'll see how this turns out.

Rumor has it that it involves a videotape of their as-yet unnamed sister, Garharlot, and her reputation of being able to satisfy the entire Mamool Ja army. And by satisfy they weren't talking about her cooking.
