Horses=Status Symbol

I have heard a lot of grief from my friends and where buying a horse is concerned. Well hear it from the horses mouth..."Horses are a status symbol." I looked forward to SoL with great anticipation. I couldn't wait to get a horse. Wow, was I shocked when I saw the price tag on said horses. The price scale seems a bit off the mark. Especially when you consider that you can purchase much more valuable weapons and armor at a fraction of the cost. This pricing scheme doesn't seem to be warranted. Yes, I have heard arguments that only the rich could afford horses and that the game should mimic this fact. I would be perfectly fine with that if not for the fact that we don't follow suit with magical items, armor, and weapons. Certainly only the richest of the rich would be able to afford such rare items. I know that my ranting about this here will not change the pricing scheme, but I did want to address it. On a side note, if they are going to cost so much, then I should have the right to sell or trade them if I deem it necessary. The NO DROP tag needs to be removed. If you can purchase something from a vendor, then you should also be able to sell it. Thanks for letting me bend your ear Arlene Bludmace Warrior of the 48th Season Horses are a status symbol. Regardless of what the relative cost of a horse to a magic sword would be in our world, on Norrath (Luclin, actually), horses are a rare and expensive item. They are a luxury item that only the rich and semi-rich can afford, but that only the very rich would buy. Yes, most people would rather purchase a powerful magic sword or some armor to turn someone else's magical sword. And that's the reason that horses are so expensive, because they are very rare, and because they are a status symbol that the very rich are willing to pay for. As for reselling horses, we are looking into that. The current plan is to allow them to be sold back at a slight loss. Alan
