Adjust the resolution of menus.
The main screen resolution for "FINAL FANTASY XI" is dependent on the "Overlay Graphics Resolution" setting.
If the Overlay Graphics Resolution is set higher than the Menu Resolution, menus will be automatically resized.

Ok, this is a little bit off topic, but I was sorta wondering about the merit point thing. Does this mean that a Samurai can shorten the recast of "Meditate" down to 6 seconds?! If so, that's insane... but it's a fitting way to present yourself as a "master" Samurai. Just spamming weapon skill after weapon skill.

No, it means that you can reduce the timer by 6 seconds for every merit point you put into it (maximum of 5 points) That means you can reduce the timer by a maximum of 30 seconds.

fishin
# Mar 09 2005 at 9:51 PM Rating: Decent
You know while I enjoy the changes to the new fishing system it has also destroyed profits. Now everyone wants to fish and items that have been priced at the same level for months have plumetted. Is it really that hard to price things at the same level that it was at. fishing takes up more time than any other guild. So if your new to fishing stop killing the prices.

No one is deliberately "killing" your fishing prices. The prices have dropped due to the most basic principle of economics known as supply and demand. Since practically no one on FFXI seems to understand this, I'll provide a working definition. The Law of Supply and Demand simply states that the more of something there is available, the less it costs, and vice versa.

Spread the knowledge and quit complaining.

quest fixed:

Incase you're wondering, the quest was 'Tuning In' in Windurst Waters.

after it, you got the most anoying fking sound ever. I called a GM on it. so I'm gonna take full credit for the fix, just because I can. Go me.
Great!

Anything that fixes even tiny bugs like that is very appreciated. I'm happy they are keeping an eye on even just the minute little problems. That shows they're trying to make the game better. ^^
Just a few problems
# Mar 09 2005 at 12:34 PM Rating: Default
I'm all for updates and having new things added to the game. I love seeing new areas and mobs roaming around and having new quests to do. My problem is everytime they do an update it ends up ******** all the players that actually work hard to get things. They made notorious monster spawn times longer so the gil sellers wouldn't get them. The thing is the gil sellers have nothing better to do than sit out there all day waiting for one to spawn while the rest of us would actually like to play the game.

They've gotten rid of the gil sellers and now all the greedy players have come out and are jacking up all the prices because they don't have someone better than them to control it. A person can make more gil if they just sell more of the item rather than increase the price of it.

Also whoever said that more problems pop up after they update is correct. I also have a cable modem and everything runs pretty quick, but lately I've just been lagging out. There's a slight problem with my OS but that wouldn't effect the game or anything not dealing with windows explorer. It doesn't close out the game entirely, but rather lags out and then kicks me. I'm just hoping it doesn't do it when I'm in the middle of a fight. I know that has happened to one of my tank friends a lot and it causes problems when I'm trying to party with him and he's gone.

In conclusion I'd just like to say they need to fix the problems we already have before trying to add new and exciting things to the game. I'd rather have something work properly first then have something added to it.
Date Correction

Just a correction that the update occured today (Mar. 9th) even though it was listed in the posting as Mar. 10th. It has now been corrected on the POL website and from within the POL viewer (there are now 2 update entries).

Updates like this in addition to the content patches every three months shows what your membership fee is for.

Don't complain... as S-E can just as easily pocket the money we pay them every month and not do anything to improve the game (i.e. no new content, no bug fixes.... nothing except standard server upkeep).

Would that make you happy?

A.M.E.N. to that
I would rather pay a small fee and have new stuff and updates, than have my money not comeback to me in anyway!!!
Why complain

Why gripe about SE finding problems and fixing them? Would you rather let the game have glitches in it no matter how insignificant? I don't mind having to DL an update, even if it means a few mins less of game time, it does mean a better gaming experience for the players.

that's my 2 cents.

I love updates!! That always means new stuff and fixes. Development team for this game has shown the strongest support for a MMO I've ever seen. Even to outright combat hacking, botting, and game currency selling is an effort I've not seen in most MMO's. Most just take your money for supposed server up keep costs while letting the game world go to waste.

Be grateful this game hasn't turned into another Diablos, PSO, etc. ^.~
