FFXI uses military time because it allows Japanese, American, and European players to convert the time manually much easier. Because SE uses PST, and I live in EST time zone, I just add 3 hours. So.....instead of 17:00, it's be 20:00. So 8PM instead of 5PM. But I play on Pandemonium so I dont need to worry about that :P
Thank you.

17:00 equats to 5pm. It the twenty-four hour clock. Instead of going back to 1 after 12 noon, it goes to 13. for example, 13=1pm 14=2pm 15=3pm, etc. And for midnight and the minutes after it, it goes, 24:00 or 0:00 for when it hits midnight, and 0:23 for the minutes after midnight.

Hope that helps.
