Odin's Eye--What Can It See?

On the Developer's Round Table, Scott Jennings mentions what they are doing about the cheater problem and the program that was used, in response to a gigantic thread discussing the incident. See the entire thread here. We have Odin's Eye running here at Mythic and are working on a way to disable its functionality. The program itself requres not just a Linux PC, but a fairly well-equipped Linux PC. Most personal Linux boxes run on lower-tier equipment -- after all, most Linux apps aren't that resource-hungry. Odin's Eye cannot reveal stealthed users or users outside a person's visual range in game. It does give you an advantage in PvP (being able to see a battle in top-down view, basically) and is bannable should we confirm you are using it. We have no plans to do any network probing or anything else that would invade a user's privacy. There are plenty of ways to defeat packet sniffing without resorting to such tactics.

Odin's Eye, an infamous stealth hack

So as anything been done about Odin's eye, I first saw it in operations with Dark Age of Camelot, and I really don't see a way that the app can be defeated. Since the app can be run on a second computer, on the same subnet I see no way that it can be stopped. it monitors and parses network traffic, not RIFT executing applications or add-ons.
