Star Citizen: a massive, enigmatic crowd-funding experiment in space. It's difficult to believe a game this ambitious could materialize, but it's happening: the Arena Commander module (v0.8) has launched. Now you can leave your hangar and put your MaxOx NN-13 Neutron Cannon to work.

The question is: how can you play right now? From the FAQ:

"...(You) will need an RSI account and a pledge package which includes a ship, some credits and access to the full game. Specific access to the Arena Commander is also required, in the form of an Alpha Slot, or the Arena Commander Access Pass which can be bought here."

It looks like the cheapest option might be the Aurora MR+ ($40) with an Arena Commander Pass ($5) – but don’t hold us to that. Once you’ve got that all sorted, head to the download page and start the ~10GB download. Best of luck among the stars, pilots!
